Extreme Veteran 678 Rome, NY | Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Placid : Official Thread Is anyone renting wheels from Race day Wheel? Have you gotten a email in regards to Pick-up? I have gotten nothing and of course I am a bit nervous about it. I emailed Marc Lees and I am waiting for a response |

New user 19 Lakeland, Virginia | Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Placid : Official Thread FYI the Ironman online store still has IM Texas, CDA, and SG gear for sale in just about every size. TX and SG were ~2 months ago so I can't imagine that LP items would sell out online so quickly anyone is left without . It may just be me, but getting in line at 0500 the day after the race seems to be more painful than the race itself. |

Master 1494 Kingston Ontario | Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Placid : Official Thread Did anyone else train in the inferno today?? Holy smack it was hot!! So glad not to run but then sadly it will be the same tomorrow when I have to I have to say my hydration was bang on though I had the worst non-solvable goggle leaking and fogging problems...tried everything...baby shampoo, spit, three different sprays. The ONLY thing that solved the problem was buying Sable goggles. Never would have believed it but thankfully I will race in these...just got them last week. |

Took a header, face first and woke up a few minutes later. Nothing appears to majorly damaged. Just some deep cuts inside my upper lip, nice goose egg on my forehead and abrasions on my forehead and nose. I have a terrible kink in my neck and left upper shoulder but think it should go away in a few days. Now you all will recongnize me on Friday mornings swim.

Member 75 Huntley, IL | Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Placid : Official Thread Ouch!! Did the heat cause you to pass out?? That's not good!! The temp prediction for next Sunday keeps creeping up...but 81 is better than 90 I guess...Ahh well, can't stress about something we can't control. I just want CLOUDS. Regarding wheels--my husband is renting wheels through TBT. So far, have just gotten an email for receipt of purchase. Having never rented wheels before (he got Zipp firecrest 404 clinchers), do they supply brake pads that are needed for the carbon rims? Also, will they adjust the brakes so the brake levers fit correctly? |

I don't really know. I was done working out and had layed out on my deck to get some sun. I was really hot and when I stood up I felt dizzy and sick. Next thing I know I'm waking up in a small pool of blood. I have to say the little nap was great but I don't care much for my new look. |

Race day coverage can be found at ironmanlive.com. Also, you can rent (if its not too late) a GPS tracker at myathletelive.com. **Ooops, just checked the website and they are no longer renting for Lake Placid.**

Regular 847 Akron | Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Placid : Official Thread Is anyone else feeling very lethargic in their taper. I've tapered for lots of races and don't ever remember feeling like this. My legs felt like lead this morning and I just wanted to lay in bed. After my work out I went to lunch, came home and took a deep nap for 2 hours. I could barely get up. I'm still really, really exhausted. Just glad it's the weekend I guess. |

Member 75 Huntley, IL | Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Placid : Official Thread I'm kinda feeling the same way. I Also took a 2 hour nap this afternoon after my morning bike/run. Still feeling pretty crappy when I work out; maybe a tad bit better, but nothing amazing. Hoping another week of relative "rest" will do it? Add packing, 2 days of driving, mental preparation, nerves, and acclimating the the Lake Placid region before the big day may not help either. Hoping this feeling is "normal." I've never tapered for a race that's going to take all day!! |

I was able to pack everything into the five bags that will be paratrooped to mirror lake.Hey guys A few questions: Are there gonna be water station in the special needs area? I'm miserably tired (I just yawned as I wrote that). I've been napping since Friday. And sleeping through the night. I am unbelievably stiff. I did my yoga poses yesterday and I felt pain and tightness in my legs and hips like when I first started doing yoga 4 years ago. Definitely a tough Taper for me this year. This what happens when we shock the system by just shutting the engine off. It sucks for sure! |
