Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Today I did the same exact course and distance for my long bike ride, 85 miles, but was able to lower the time by 27 min since we were with a larger group, so more drafting and also pushed ourselves more. It was a good training ride for my upcoming HIM since it was really hot at the end at 95F. Also did a 32 min brick run. Hope everyone is having a good weekend and great picture Mark! I am adding in my times from yesterday and my rest day today and Friday. I had no issues with ym bike and even felt confident enough to give my fix a flat to a guy with a flat tire (I still had a spare tube and co2 canister). I found a athletic club with pool, treadmills, and bikes so am going on daily basis - just doing 30 minutes run and 30 minute swim yesterday, this a.m. i got up and did 30 min. run and 30 min on bike before joining family for ziplines. Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Great swim today, more than made up for my bust on Friday. 5000 yards total, 1000 warm up, 500 drills, 6x400 w/30s rest in between, 6x100 w/10s rest then 500 cool down. Worked out to an average 1:34, not too bad as I was trying hard to swim controlled, long and with a slow stroke rate. I'll have to update my totals later, I'm on my wife's Mac and this is the best I can do! |

I do beach runs with my kids in the summer. Hard pack sand is nicer to run on than asphalt. It is much gentler on the knees, but not as fast. If you get caught in soft sand it will shred your quads and you will go very slow with a high effort. Try to keep on the dark stuff. You can run it as easily with no shoes as you can with shoes. Is this at low tide on the beach? The company that puts on the tri here is doing a tri in October in Fla. it will include a beach run at low tide. Thank you and thanks from my daughter. As a side note, the cross country team volunteers for this every year. It was fun to watch the CC coach beg my daughter to quit vollyball and run CC. One of several proud dad moments for the day. The three newbies I signed up all finished as well. I can't get them to go on BT though. As for me I won a $140.00 pair xx2I sunglasses, it almost paid my race fee.
