Yeah, I don't know how well I'm going to be able to do, here. No swim yesterday, definitely no swim today because I have to go home and pack and clean out my car. And probably no swim tomorrow either because I'll be in the car all day and we're going to celebrate my birthday tomorrow night (since I'll be back in DC by the time it happens). I'm not sure how open the Y is this coming week, or if I can still get in for free. I could try to be a champion and knock it all out in the 4 days I'll have left of the year when I get back!

okay team, we're down to the wire and there's a whole lot of swimming to be done still.  Please get to the pool and work on these goals--then update you logs so I can post our week with PRIDE that we ALL got in the water  cause at this moment we have several folks whose logs are blank slates for anything this week

Hey folks - I got in a swim today! Hooray. I also noticed that my blog was measuring my distance in meters, not yards. So I fixed it. Sadly, it makes my total go down, because meters are longer than yards. But my pool is a 25 yard pool, and I always count it according to that. No worries, I'm about halfway there Gonna go tomorrow as well as the day after Christmas. And depending on how tired I am on Thursday when I get back to NoVA, I can probably hit the pool that afternoon.

Here's week 3...thanks to those of you who got some late swims in there.  I know this month is crazy with family and other responsibilities making it pretty hard to keep the workouts going.

If I have any incorrect information there will you PM me so it can be fixed?

Okay, my sweet pool piglets (in my pool that's the highest compliment, btw) ... SIX DAYS left in December. That's an eternity, really ... so swim!

I'm 1400 yds OVER my goal and still haven't picked up a boy at the pool yet. But I'm lookin' for something a little like this ...

Kosuke Kitajima is an Olympic gold medalist and former multiple world-record holder. He is a champion breaststroker (mmm ... definitely could use one of those) and other than astonishing success at a young age, has accomplished two unique things: 1. FINA, the governing world swim body, actually changed a regulation in direct response to his swim style: you can now do one butterfly kick off the start/turns in breaststroke. 2. His catchphrase (not catch phase ) won a new-words contest in 2004: 'cho-kimochi-ii,' meaning "I feel mega good." AGREED ... especially when I see pics of him!

BTW the group pic (a back-from-Christmas four-fer! Howdya like that!) is the Japanese men's 4x100 medley relay, which won an upset bronze in the 2004 Games.

Hello I haven't posted much because I've been so busy with family Christmas events. Here's my summary so far. I think I set my goals too lofty!! I didn't account for leaving town, working on the 26th during all opening hours etc......

So right now I'm up to 11km out of 20km. If I get in 2 more swims about 2400 in length I'll get up to 15.8 which is as close as i'm going to get. Overall I did way more swimming that I have this whole year so i'm happy with that.

well...I'm checking the logs again.  So glad that some of you have pushed yourselves to make the goal.  Most of us swam more this month than we ever thought we could.  I'll do final logs Tuesday night to be sure everyne has a chance to update the last minute swims

CONGRATULATIONS TO CAT!

SHE BEAT HER DEC. SWIM GOAL!

Now the big question is.... Will she own Pat for a month?

Stay tuned - Pat still can swim tomorrow, but he's wayyyyyyy behind. Can he do it? (Or does he secretly WANT to be Cat's slave?)

(Wait - it's no secret. He's already changed his sig line....)

YAY CAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man, DFL? Heh. Well, it had to happen to me someday, right?

Quick question, team leaders: I was checking out some of the team spreadsheets in the captain thread (yes, I'm totally a big snoop) and I noticed that I'm listed as having not reached my goal in the final column. Is that a mistake, or am I just reading the spreadsheet wrong? Not that it matters one bit in the final tallies for the month, I'm just curious.

Thanks, Judi, although really, it's not important. I was just curious.

You've been a great team leader this month. Between Yanti's inspirational photos and your constant support and advice and cheerleading, I really felt like I had a lot of people on my side. You certainly pushed me to meet my goal. Thank you!
