3.11 miles (5k Miracle Mile Race) this morning...no pain during - some minor soreness post - nothing ice & massage couldn't handle.

I jogged 90% of the race & am glad I didn't wimp out.  I'm sure I can get in the final 1.01 mile(s) in over the next couple of days!  And...I'm confident I'll still make the running portion of my tri next weekend.

I signed up for the Halloween Challenge...anyone else?

Awesome run!  Glad your ankle didn't turn out to be too terrible.

I'm in for October as well, but this time my goal is hours rather than miles.  That should give me some flexibility to work around the knee however I need to.

And since the October challenge is including walking time/miles, you should be just fine.

Today sucks.  The foot/ankle started hurting about 2 hours after the race yesterday.  Ice didn't help.  Massage didn't help.  It's a little better tonight, but not like it was.

1.1 mile to go guys...2 days.  I'm sure I'll get it done.

One week until the tri.

Going to try to get a short run in this morning.  Unfortunately the knee didn't cooperate yesterday, but I hope the rest will let me get some miles in today and tomorrow.

Got 6.2 miles in as part of the Olympic race Sunday.   I was a finisher!  Really happy with the 10k time as this was only the second time I had run that far and first time in a triathlon.   My left knee and whatever muscle is behind your ankle bone was really hurting by the midway point.   Going to have to get out the anatomy chart and see what it's called.

A day and a half left for everyone to get their mileage in.  Finish strong fellow Chanticleers!

Congratulations on the race!!  And you changed your name.  I was confused at first.

Sounds like your achilles tendon in your ankle.  That hurts on me sometimes.  Lots of stretching helps prevent the pain and will help with the pain now.

Yeah, I need to figure out a decent username, but wanted to put my 'normal' one here for now.  When I first signed up at BT I didn't know it was a forum site so just used one of my alternate login names thats usually not taken.   I should have changed my avatar at the same time and really confused everyone

I'll check on achilles tendon information but I thought that was more on the back of the leg, whereas where I feel the pain is on the inside right behind the round ankle bone.   From having my gait videotaped during a shoe fitting, I slightly overpronate with my left foot only so this makes perfect sense why it would occur here.  I just need to figure out specifics on it.

Week 4 results up, looks like we are in 2nd place. Everyone double check their miles, I noticed a big error, I think, for Barb on your week 3, in the forum it is at 6 miles but on the spreadsheet it is 28.85, not sure what happened there, how do we go about fixing that?

2 runs left for me, tonight and tommorow at lunch. My legs are like jello though, if it were not for the running challenge there is no way I would be running today, or likely tommorow. Just going to take it slow, put the miles in.

Way to go everyone!

Week 4 Results

* NADS RULE once again!

* Tomorrow is the last day!!  Come on everyone, get as many miles toward your goal as you can!!

(What am I saying!  I have a few more myself - which I will get done - I won't let you down Okras!)

* Remember that 100% is the highest you can go - unless there is a tie for 1st; then we'll look at additional miles run over the goal.

* Remember, log your miles by tomorrow night (Tuesday), Captains will report on Wed, and I'll post final results on Thursday.

* Please look over the spreadsheet for mistakes or omissions.  Thanks!!!

* BTW - there are some running ANIMALS in this challenge.  I'm impressed.

It'll get fixed in the final one, so there's no need to bother changing it now.  If anything, that'll give us an extra boost.

Yes, week 4 should be 28.85. I trust that our leader will fix it.

I got in 2.84 today.  I'm going to try to do a run in the morning and one at night, about the same distance each, which will put me over 90%.  If I'm feeling ok, I'll stretch the night run as far as I can, and maybe get to 95% or more if I can.  I don't know if I can hit 100% at this point...  I think if I'd managed the knee problems better I might have made it.

Just do what you can and we will be proud of you! Slackers are a problem, not injuries.

I actually have an uncle Robert. He doesn't go by Bob, though.

I have faith that you will get those 3 miles in. Good luck!

I got up to run this morning but it was pouring, so I went back to bed.  I'll run after work to finish up even if it is still raining.

Back to bed???  Sheesh!   Running in the rain is supposed to be fun, although I guess not if it's dark and cold in the morning.

How's everyone else doing on miles?  My plan was to take most of this week off as race recovery/rest, but if we need it I'll go get 4 miles in later today or tonight.

alright, finished her off today. Total for me 78.24 miles, so 3.24 miles over my goal.

Todd, I dont think it matters if you run more as far as scoring goes, because if I recall you do not count any over miles.

I assumed the 100% goal was for the team summary and not based on individual scores.

Either way,  great job on everyone getting finished up and meeting their goals or as close as possible with all the aches and injuries!
