Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Oh, I had a tragic century ride yesterday. Its a big race and I was planning for a top 10 finish, totally achievable, so I set out and got in with one of the faster groups and was going great. Ahead of planned time, perfect. Beautiful weather, big hills, gorgeous views....50km, flat Well, thats the nature of bikes I guess - onwards and upwards, next race here I come |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I was actually right on target for this months challenge but I have a sprained ankle - absolutely fine on the bike but pretty impossible to run on - so I'm having a few days off running....and 55km left to log in the next 8 days training - eek! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() So I've spent all night looking at races and decided I really want to do the Disney World half marathon. But the more I think about it I may want to attempt the marathon even more. November will be my first half marathon and now I'm thinking Disney World Marathon in 2013. I've also decided I'm doing a HIM in 2012. I am so extremely pumped for my run tomorrow after looking at all these races. |

Do the Goofy Challenge and run the half on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday! Best of both worlds |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Emmanem - 2011-05-21 3:14 PM Well I graduated! Spent the last week at the beach and now I'm about to head back to Clemson. Already had to say bye to 3 friends... it's tough stuff. It's sad, I've spent the past 4 years of my life with these people and now I honestly don't know when I'll see them again, I know I will see them but it's not going to be the same as it's been. I am excited for the future though. James and I are planning on checking out some apartments on Monday and our name is on a waiting list for a puppy ![]() Congratulations Emma!! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() bodhi_girl - 2011-05-22 6:41 PM Crushers - I bought rose bushes today. 2 of them. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous big red buds, bred for this climate, guaranteed to have 4-5 blooms at any given time over the summer. They are called "Hope For Humanity Roses" as 100% of the proceeds goes to local homelessness-related charities. I love roses, and it's for a good cause. But ... I don't have a garden. I have a blank clay tablet that has not yet been developed. I guess I'd better get on with building the flowerbed along the south end of the fence, so my beautiful new roses have a home too. ;-) It's worth commenting - the house I lived in in Victoria had a 60+-yr-old 3000-sq ft garden in a temperate wet humid NW climate. Trees and shrubs and bushes and flowers everywhere. When I moved in I thought I'd love it. Turns out I hated it. My biggest lesson from that monstrosity of a yard: Less Is More. Oooooh, roses! I L-O-V-E roses... but don't have any. I spent my Sunday morning picking up a gazillions tulips bulbs (that were dug up from Albany's tulip festival). But may need to think about roses for a bare spot or two I have. The previous owners have this green crap in the front flower beds that I tore out years ago. But I have yet to fill it with anything because I just can't decide what to put there. p.s. On your "Less Is More" philosophy... do you think you could talk to my hubby about applying that theory to his garden?? |

Heck, one flat did me in for one race a few years ago. Of course, it felt like I was riding in a monsoon too... Seriously, though... what a bummer, Rachel! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() OK, I think I'm just about caught up! Sorry for anything major I missed... I had another one of those crazy weekends where I feel like I need to come to work on Monday morning just to breathe and catch up on everything else! I did get some short runs and a ride in. Aside from a million smaller things, also had soccer pictures, tore out some raspberries, planted some new raspberries, bought tulip bulbs and took the kids fishing yesterday. My older daughter caught the only keeper and my younger daughter caught her first fish ever! Yeah, and I was the only one not to catch anything... As for my goals, I get my last swim in after my stitches come out on Thurs. I think I may actually go over my bike goal! Running, I will probably just make, but should still be doable. I just wish I LIKED running. It'd be so much easier to get it done. My weight goal... I need some work. I wish I didn't like food so much! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() So - my boyfriend calls me yesterday afternoon and says to come have supper with him at his golf club. No problem, I drive out there, we were sitting chatting hadn't ordered yet ... and he points out the window and says "hey look there's my kid just coming in from his game, he's going to have dinner with us" .... I'm screaming in my head WHAAAT!?!?!?! You said NOTHING about meeting the kid! In reality I just said "ok" while inside I'm freaking out ... so *not* ready to meet his kids yet! But in the end it was nice. It was the oldest one (13) and he turned out to be very smart, and polite, and pleasant, and I enjoyed my dinner with him. My head is still spinning, though ... Good thing he didn't tell me ahead of time, or I wouldn't have gone. Meeting the friends AND the oldest kid in the same weekend is enough to exhaust me! (The party went splendid on Friday, by the way - everyone was lovely and friendly and welcoming and I had a great time). Phew. I gotta go have a nap. |
