I think my scale and I are breaking up. He plays this game with me every week and I'm tired of it. I do admit that I've been a little obsessive in the past couple of days with the number on the scale. It's a weakness I have. But yesterday morning the number was 222. Yesterday, after my LONGEST bike ride ever (60 minutes), I got on and it was at 219.5. This morning I was at 218...a new all time low. Why all the games? Why can't I get that number when it counts? So, he's got one last chance to make it up to me. If I'm below 220 tomorrow morning, he can stick around. Otherwise, I'm going to have to pull out the sledgehammer.

It seems to me that the sole purpose of scale is to play tricks on you- seems to be designed with that in mind. I know what you're going through and the only pieces of advice I can give you is just try to relax about it a bit. I know easier said than done when you're in the "scales zone" and it takes some time to shake this off but you can do it. If you're working out, eating healthy (99% of the time) you're bound to lose weight- watch your clothes and watch yourself. From my own experience I can say that body changes faster than numbers on your scale. Then again using a sledgehammer could be a great way to release all the stress and negative emotions.....hhmm..... go with the sledgehammer

sailing - I got some recommendations on another board for the protein powder that I'm going to try and start after my race this weekend.

josh - I've never tried Greek yogurt. I'm not a huge fan of yogurt to begin with but I might give it a try.

Last week - only sailing knows
This week - 221 (stoopid scale)

Last night I went to see the most amazing concert I've ever seen in my life. I went to see The Swell Season. If you're not familiar with them, they are the people who won the Oscar for best song (Falling Slowly) from the movie Once (also a fantastic movie if you've never seen it), Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. I have never seen someone have as much passion for music as Glen does. There is just a raw, unbridled intensity in his voice that I have never heard before. Marketa's ethereal voice provides a perfect balance to his. They are as perfect together as any two singers could be. Even though the music was not spiritual in nature, it was truly a spiritual experience. I left on a natural high last night.

Then I got home and tried on my tri one piece suit that came in the mail yesterday (after paying $30 for shipping) and almost couldn't stop laughing. I was actually afraid to stop laughing because I figured then I would start crying

And then this morning, I woke up with a bad pain in my hip that is going all the way down my leg. Going to the chiropractor and telling him he's either got to fix me or shoot me

Here's the song that really resonated with me last night. It's from the movie Once. I watched it again and it gave me goosebumps.

OK, it's 141.2 today.

I almost forgot to weigh in today.  I'm still on a high from my first sprint tri of the season!  I placed 3rd in my AG.  OK, before you think I"m some sort of speed demon, this was a small beginner race and none of the usual suspects were around.  But still, it felt good.  And I improved from last year.  So I'm all happy.

Kappie:  I'm all over the Greek yogurt thing.  I just love Fage's 0%, it has very little sugar and its consistency is SO much better than other yogurt.  I eat it with cereal in the morning or for a snack.  It does take getting used to b/c it can be tart but they put SO MUCH g-darned sugar in yogurt anymore it defeats the purpose.

congrats jini!  That's awesome.

Last week: 234
This week: 231

like, wow.  Guess my scale must have heard I was bad-mouthing it and so it decided to shape up.

Greek Yogurt - I keep trying it here and there, but honestly, it's so sour I can't eat it.  Really enjoying my summer vacation.

Start 157.00
Last week 159.00
Today 158.00

I have started to really work out more and in turn find myself eating MORE than I should.
Just because I work out more doesn't mean that I can eat three pieces of apple pie!!

Okay I need to check in with all of you more so I can conquer my temptations.

Have a good week!!

It's a well-known fact that scales are cruel.

Josh - there's no way you gain 4 actual pounds.

Oh yeah, tell my scale that!!!

I agree that scales have a conspiracy going on for sure.  One day 149 next 152.2 WTF!!  Oh well my pants still fit so I don't worry too much.

Lets see accountability not all that good but here goes:

4 to 9 am:  2 cups coffee

10 am:  Baby ruth...mmm

1 pm:  2 slices of bread and 1 slice beef bologna

So far about 40 oz of water

3 PM:  cup of coffee and I KNOW another cup of coffee is coming up.

No, I do not use splenda or sugar or cream

283 calories so far.  I better start cutting back a bit.

Dude. We're going to have to buy you a cheeseburger if you keep eating like the Olsen twins.

That's tooooooo! funny

By itself it's either bland or a little tangy to most people, but that's why _od created fruit!!!! There's tons of protein, very little sugar, and will satisfy most "sweet" cravings as a snack. Just try to get the 0% or the 2% (as little fat as you're able to stand!!! I love it!!!
