(At least, it is for me.) Very impressive. LazyMarathoner - 2009-03-05 9:00 AM Morning. Ah, sleeping in until 7 was absolute bliss. I could get used to that, but better not. I have a big swim tonight, a little over 3,000. That will be my peach for the day! What's the setup - yards or meters? You'll be more impressed as we swim the 4400 yards in Sept. Thanks Dee And ugh, is it really 4400 yards? Shoot me now. Yep. 2.4 miles swimming. With approx. 2200 persons in a mass start in the water. Unreal. I've never calculated the miles to yards/meters. Yikes. Use this - http://www.bx3.com/phil/tri/tricalc.asp *helpage TOPpage* Edited by 1stTimeTri 2009-03-05 10:25 PM |

Ummmm... DOLPHINS. Yeah, that's it. Think of a dolphin. (My bag of Pepperidge Farm Double Chocolate Milanos, which I opened earlier today, is now gone. Which tells you what direction I'm going in, too. I'm feeling a tad whalish tonight....) Edited by D001 2009-03-06 12:33 AM |

It also is outdoors so it is closed for half of the year. LazyMarathoner - 2009-03-05 10:04 PM 1stTimeTri - 2009-03-05 2:56 PM LazyMarathoner - 2009-03-05 9:00 AM Morning. What's the setup - yards or meters? One pool is yards, one is meters. The pool tonight was meters. I think I'll do it in the yards pool tomorrow though. It's closer. All Americans swim in the yards pool, and everyone else hits the metric pool? |

Weather should be fine, possible rain, though. Getting some gels tomorrow. I'm always thinking if that 15 weeks of base paid off or not. Holy carp! A trial mary. That is awesome! Best of luck with it! |

That's pretty cool that you're doing it. Good luck! Yeah. He's living vicariously through me because he gets into it. He's done Kona twice in his life. His times were just over 10 hours, give about 10 to 17 min. I'm lucky to get some feedback for free! Sounds like a great coach! |

I want to do an Ironman next year and that's the closest one. The only problem is that it is on the same date as the Iowa-Iowa State football game. There are several problems with this: 1. I am a die hard hawkeye fan and missing this game is a BIG deal. 2. The game is being played in my back yard. 3. I have a ton of friends who return to Ames just for this event, some of whom I'm lucky to see even once a year 4. I missed the last game that was in Ames due to being in a frickin wedding (Seriously this guy is a huge football fan. A lotta people were pissed. We caught the fourth quarter from the limo, but it wasn't the same) 5. I still catch grief for for missing that game to this day. 6. I still catch grief for missing other televised Hawkeye games last year due to training and/or racing.
No contest in my opinion. The IM experience is way better than anything I've ever done. I was out there from 6am to midnight and was actually sad it was over. You should do it! Despite all of the "cons" I've listed I'm still about 95% leaning towards volunteering this fall |

Something's wrong with it because the pedals kept slipping. And then since I don't have my block thing for the front wheel, I put it on a phone book but it kept falling off. It was either that or pilates, so I'm glad I got in something ... Way to stick with it! |

Master 1790 | Subject: RE: Team Peep Show - The Sequel I'm goin' swimming tonight, but I'll probably only be doing like 300-500 yards! Ha! I'm trying to do some major stroke rehab, and I'm going to do a billion drills and floating schtuff and I don't want to do "junk" yardage, so I just quit when I can no longer maintain the new form and revert to old habits. Also maybe I'll give my new roomie's "pilates for dummies" DVD a go. She warned me how awfully difficult it is ... |
