deehtz - 2010-01-14 5:31 PM I did my swim session today.  I had to cut it a little short just because of time.  However, it was still a pretty good push because I am upping my continuous swim distance and cutting back on the breathing/rest stops.

Barring some unforeseen, I should make my goals this month.  I am waiting anxiously for the registration to open for my first tri.  That is definitely motivating me to keep training!

We both have to sign up quickly so we can do that tri!  It'll be fun!

Oh Yeeeaaahh!

Went to the gym today to get a 1600m swim in since I am falling behind on my goal. Well my school's swim team was using it even though it was supposed to be open for everyone to use at the time I went... pretty disappointing. So now I have a swim planned for Saturday instead. Walking 5 miles tomorrow to get on track with that goal. hopefully I can start running again on Monday and not re-injure my ankle. Hope everyone's had a great week! Go Warriors!!

OK, so I just took a look at the team totals for this challenge and here are the results:

Team 1 - 31.5%

Team 2 - 35.3 %

Team 3 - 33.0% (that's us...we are going to win...let's get moving)

Please......I have been on the loosing team since November......I wanna win!!!! What does the team need to get motivated??? Do I need to sing for you??? maybe that will get you moving...I am a very bad singer!

I wanna win, too. I do not like losing! I could sing to you all too, I am a VERY BAD singer. That'll get you all moving!

I hate when that happens. It takes me about 35-40 minutes to get to the pool. Often I get there and there are no lanes, even when I call ahead. One of the reasons I haven't been swimming in a LONG time.
Careful with that ankle.

Got a walk (mostly done) and core to do today.

Thought I would check and see how the team is going. Remember to post your workouts on the spreadsheet. We need everyone to pitch in and do their part if we are going to win.

Btw - Owl_girl - we had a 4.0 earthquake today here in OK. Nothing major here but man it felt weird to feel it again.

I am really lucky regarding the pool.  Since I work at the YMCA, I can just take a long lunch break, get my swim in, and then eat a bite in my office.  Or fit it in before or after work.  Our main pool always has at least 3 - 6  lap lanes going depending on the time of day.  Often I don't even have to share
Right across the street from the Y is a lake that has a 3.5 mile path around it.  Very nice for running or biking if I brought my bike into town.
Extra kudos to those of you that have to make more effort to get to a workout venue.  That takes even more determination!

jealous! I also work at the Y and just get the swim in right after teaching my water aerobics...but we only have 3 laps and they are usually filled....well during the rush to get healthy....by March it should slow down. We have "bike paths" right behind us but there are tooo many stop/starts because of crossing roads. But I do love running on them during the spring/summer/fall...right now they are covered in snow, wish they would plow them.

Great to see everyone getting in the workouts! I tried to get an outdoor run in yesterday. Took off and turned around after 6 blocks, the sidewalks were toooo icy! I am not taking the chance of falling. Just can't take the TM so no run for me, so far today looks to be the same as yesterday I see what Sunday brings.
