I take it the pre-order is getting delayed?  The website says Q2 2011 which ends in 6 days.

Standby - 2011-06-24 6:46 AM Any updates fellas? I'm slowly upgrading my bike and it's looking like these will be be the last piece of the puzzle.

Hey thanks for writing.  I'm still in Taiwan negotiating.  It's been a crazy week.  We'll have a big update on our blog when I get home.  This trip has been incredible.

Take care,

For anyone that isn't aware, there were factory quality issues that were causing delays. Read about it here:

Chris, thank you for your honesty and we will be waiting to hear more as you move forward.

Will the wheels being produced in Taiwan cause a price increase since the cost of labor in Taiwan is higher than in China?

Wheels will be produced in Taiwan. We are not only improving our quality but streamlining our production to fewer factories which improves our warranty. I can't comment on pricing yet as we are still awaiting pricing from our factories. With that said I was very clear with the factories and explained our vision and goal of being an affordable engineered wheel. Not just another open mold company with low pricing. I hope that helps. Take care,

Thanks for putting in the long hours to make sure the product is high quality. I'm sure we all would much rather wait and get a good quality product than have a sub par product now.

You're welcome. Lately we've been eating, sleeping and breathing FLO. It's our passion though so we don't mind. We are keeping positive that all of our hard work will soon result in great products and a successful company. Thanks for your thoughts,

Hey guys, I thought some of you might be interested in this information...

We are starting a FLO Cycling Component Series on our blog. Our goal is to educate everyone on what we mean by "high quality". Over the next series of blog posts we are going to be highlighting our component selections in detail. We started with bearings. Check out the post here... http://bit.ly/lH9Rky

Interesting article.

While I must admit that I am no bearing expert, when I've bought bearings in the past, the most 'emphasized' spec. was the ABEC rating (or ball grade) of the bearing.

I've noticed that there is no mention of ABEC in your article. is there any reason for this?

thanks.

Very good post on bearings.

Which ABEC or ISO bearing classes do we use in bike hubs? I've always wondered. I've had the sense that run out and eccentricity of bike bearings weren't quite relevant in the old days like they were with higher precision machinery. But now that bikes use sealed bearings, what sort of precision is typical?

on edit: beston, who clearly read my mind, beat me by two minutes!

Beston and Pacific John,

To be 100% honest I don't know the answer to these questions.  However, I have already written the manufacturer to see if I can get an answer to your questions.  If/when I hear something I will post the answers.

Sorry for not knowing off the top of my head,

All,

I've got some news I thought you might be interested in.  First of all, our FLO Cycling kits by Hincapie are now up for pre-order until July 31st.

Second, we just completed a massive site update.  I've spent hundreds if not a thousand hours developing our site from scratch.  It's been a lot of work but we are happy with the results.

Our wheel pages will be up as soon as possible.  Please take a minute to visit our new site if you have a minute.

All the best,

Thanks! Tri clothing is in the plan but we are starting with road kits. Every new product we offer we have to meet minimum order quantities. With a new mold bill coming up we are keeping things financially "in check".I hope you understand,
