Pink Socks - 2013-02-18 6:35 AM I just saw that bionic Kate is going to pass me this week.  I know she is in a drop-down week but she'll still blow by me.  Then all the rest of you will start passing me.  Dang, that is gonna be depressing.  But I love you all and maybe I'll be able to catch back up spring and then Fall.

You say that but I don't think I will ever pass you....

You need to sign up for an HM Pam.

Hi everyone,

I have decided to bail on this challenge.  I did a more realistic evaluation of my goals for this year and once my HM is done I'm just not going to be doing as much running.  My longest runs will be in the 6 mile range and I won't get in more than 3 runs/week.  Not that I am really doing that now anyways (haha).

Good luck everyone!

Melanie

Melanie, we will miss you.  So what will you be doing, more riding? swimming? Don't leave us in suspense.  Good Luck in whatever you do!  Do come by and check in!

Thanks!  I'll be Olympic distance tri's.  So focused shorter running sessions will work better for me than trying to get in 20 miles/week.  I'll be trying to throw in some mini-gym tri's in on weekends to build up endurance for a race.

Melanie, I understand your decision and applaud your focus.  Please check in occasionally tho.

Although he hasn't said anything about it here, Darren completed a 49K tough race yesterday in killer time.

Kate, I am thinking about squeezing in a HM the weekend between our DU and sprint tri.  If I do, it will be a disaster but I'm thinking about it to spend some times with a girlfriend.  Goodness tho, I've got to see if I can get my legs (and feet) back.

Is it too late to join?

I have a fair amount of miles (49) logged from the first half of Jan, but have been sidelined with shin splint for a month. Started back running on 2/17. I'lll have to ease in better this time

Absolutely, come on in the water's fine.  You've still got time to ease into it.  Also, keep it mind we count run/walk as well. For me, if I've got the pink shoes of running on than it counts. If I'm just walking around or hiking - not so much. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Also, check pg 4 for a link to the google drive and table. Make sure you update the excel sheet at least once a month - most of us update it much more often though. You will notice us talking smack to a rabbit/bunny. That's the stupid energizer bunny that just keeps going and going ticking away miles everyday whether we want it to or not.

I did it again.  Went for a 10K last night; ended up running 6.25mi.  Time at the 5K point?  30:03... PR!  Time at 6.2mi?  1:00:43, for the PR.  Forty-four whopping seconds seperate me from the sub-60 10K club.  ARGH!!!

Oh, this brings the bunny to 27.99 miles away, now.

Welcome!  You can join in any time.  Look for the spreadsheet (on Page 4) and try to update it so we can all see where each of us are.

Laid off for the day. I just wasn't feeling it. I have duty tomorrow, so nothing then either. I'll make up for both days on Friday and Saturday.

I'm actually pretty sore cramming in miles. It's just going to be how it is being on rotating shifts. I got 18 for this week with 3x6, but we got hammered last night. I knew I was not going outside, but now, everything else is closed. We'll see if the gym opens later for me to get my 4 I planned today... then it is a long rest over the weekend.

Bill, we are glad you are back.  You have definitely been in our thoughts.  The bunny needed a break, I'm sure the bunny is complaining too...  Again, welcome back and we hope you do not have another 14 day period again like you just had.

Good Luck!

Amazing how that happens when you let life/work push back your runs !!!!!

I still have hopes of getting my last 2 runs in this week (if I can just get out of work today and have a window without "kid" duty Foot in mouth

All right Mr. rabbit. I'm back at it after a bout with lower back pain that kept me from running for almost two weeks.

Can someone up near the bunny trip him or something? :-)

After today's 9 miler, I'm now less than 25 miles behind that blasted rabbit.

So, I turn 38 on March 28th.  I hereby vow to be 10 miles AHEAD of the rabbit by that time!!
