Back from our cruise.  Had a great time.  Beautiful weather the entire time, bathing suits and shorts under warm, sunny blue skies ... until we got home to snow.

Ate and drank too much!!  I have got a lot of training to do to get over this vacation!

Anyone want to give me the readers digest version of the last 10 days?

Steve, you always post some amazing pics.  I'm so jealous.

Thank you.... My offer still stands- Any time anyone is in the Seattle area.... I will do my best to keep you busy!!!!

Does that offer include small children too?

So Steve, I wonder who would come out of the wilderness first - you or my 2 kids!   LOL  After a few hour of listening to my kids ramble on nonstop and fight, you might go looking for a bear to eat you!

How small?? There are some amazing hikes around here that are great for kids!! I get mine out every summer, trying to get them on bigger and better hikes each year. I LOVE hiking with the kids cuz it tuckers 'em out big-time. The key to success is snacks -- lots of 'em, and really good ones.

Oh they are still pretty young.  Soon to be 6yrs. old and 3 1/2 yrs. old.  I was more amused at the thought of Steve w/ 2 little kids in the wilderness.

Although we have tried to get them out a little bit since there is a nice park by our house w/ trails but we are still at the stop and look at every leaf stage of hiking.  :-)

Enjoy that stage.  Mine are teenagers and you would think we are beating them when we insist the hike with us.

Mine are now grown and have kids of their own that they are bringing around for us to take care of. It never ends and I'm glad of it.

Hey suck it up and wade through the details like the rest of us do!  Welcome Back....

In a nutshell,

Doug is running so much he needs to buy new shoes every month.
Chris has "issues" due to his new bike position, apparently he is wearing different bike shorts to compensate
Steve still drinks too many J&Cs and visits way less frequently than he used to
Ryan is really buff, check 1 or 2 pages back for proof
Kim is biking a become phenomenon now that she has figured out how to use her CT
Sam is doing some new killer workouts that are leaving her a little sore but wanting more.....
John, Andy, Tony still drink a lot of beer and talk about drinking a lot of beer
Tracy is going to look even hotter in her running gear because she has a skinny waist (and you know what that does to everything else!)
Stan is still trying to figure out how to do a TT on the CT so are a few other people.....still waiting!
The Canadians seem to have a lot of time off to do fun things with their families.....probably have really tiny work weeks up/over there.
Me, I am running a little so complaining a lot less.  Oh and I am leaving for Hawaii in 10 days.

That is all this pea brain could hold.

Today has been a BANG UP day! I did my first 30 minute run since 11/7 with no pain during or after AND I had the best swim day I have ever had, like ever.  Was I fast? Hell no, but for 40 minutes I swam going from one drill to the next without stopping feeling a little one with the water....what the heck is up with that?  Funny thing is as I was leaving, I was chatting with a guy I've seen for the last year or more.....he says to me "your swimming has gotten a lot better.  You used to really suck". Surprised  This isn't even dolphin guy, but a really "nice" 40 something dude.....I think he realized what he said, I laughed and agreed I really did suck bigtime.  He saw me in the days when I swam with a pull buoy half way down the lane, let it go and then tried to swim the rest of the way without it......gasping at the end.

Performance Foot and Lower Leg Kit

LOVE Trigger Point stuff. I use it all the time. I've got the ultimate 6 kit, which is basically the same as what you've got linked there, but with the addition of the quad roller. It's great for rolling out the ITB.

I'm not sure about buying used. None of the components will really wear out per se, but household pets sometime like to chew on the massage balls.

X2, I have the same kit and think the Quadroller is pretty nice...painfully nice, but it gets in deeper than my foam roller.  Used might be kind of weird, I know I only use mine after I am showered and clean but they are made out of a woven material, that if someone is sweaty...well...uh...might not be nice to think about...

Suzie forgot to tell you that I signed-up for my very first sprint tri at the beginning of March, and that I can run 2.2 miles without stopping to walk.

Word. I have a friend that has to travel there often. He packs all of his food to eat while there, and rarely leaves his hotel room except to go to work. He says it's HELLA expensive, and he can't find a restaurant that he likes. Had horrible stomach issues for the first month while there, too....

There are 2 files, 1 is the rider performance file and the other is the report.

the report is broken if you don't finish the course, it will only show 0's.  It's been a know issue for years.  If you finish the course the report will work.

I need to apologize everyone who had to read through my childish rants yesterday.  It was kind of a heat of the moment thing.  Today was a little better.  The first thing I did was go back to my old bike shorts.  What a difference.  The new Pearl Izumi's padding is in the shape of a saddle.  I did not even notice.  Kind of felt like I was getting a little violated!

I rode for 1 hr 15 minutes today.  1 hour shifting through the gears in the old shorts, then switched and tried out the new ones for 15 minutes.  Once I realized the design, I made it work.

I still could not get comfortable in my aerobars.  I have my arms resting about two to three inches in front of my elbow.  When here my triceps get tired real fast.  I'd like to move them forward a little and almost rest my elbows on the pads.

The other part is that I feel way too much of my calves being used.  This might be due to the slightly revised pedal stroke the guy is trying to get my to use.  (Press more with the heels).

Anyway, I am documenting it daily and after a week or two, I am going back to make any neccesary adjustments.  Again, sorry for the rant and thanks for the advice.

Anyone else get this email from XTERRA?  I am getting a speedsuit since Louisville is never ws legal.
