yaaaaaaawn.....  I'm going to do a few semi-Long Bikes this week, then I have another HIM next weekend, so my my first 100-miler won't be until the weekend of June 12th.  I'm planning to get in four or five 100+ milers from then till the first week in July.

Interesting.....  I'm not sure if they're just sending the case to everybody or if you have to go to the website to verify.  Seems like they're just sending it.

Yeah I got that email too and it says it should be arriving June 11. How much is in a case though? Seems like a lot of drink mix to me for 2 months of training.

i doubt it is a case of mix.

it'll be (12) or (24) 20 ounce bottles, most likely

PennState - 2010-05-26 8:28 PM Hey anybody have a 100 miler ride this weekend. It's getting to be that time o' year

I do! It's 120+ miles from Binghamton, NY to Sandy Pond, NY (so from the NY/PA border to Lake Ontario). I'm stoked about the ride! Not stoked about getting around Syracuse without becoming road kill. Yell

I actually popped on the thread to specifically ask about this email!  I couldn't tell if there was a place to confirm that we would want some to try it. I'm game!

I find it hard to believe they are going to ship out a case of 20 ounce bottles to 2000 people without even asking if they want it.  Am I missing something here?  Are they sending a powder that is equivalent to a case? Are they sending coupons?

I think it is odd too - but the email said a case should be at our houses by June 11.

you are probably right.  Its probably a case worth in powder form......yeah, that would cost a lot to ship....way too much.

though for Nestle, a very small chunk of their advertising budget.....we'll see!

(*sorry if this offends anyone.  Not really, but I'll just say it anyway.  )

My swim workout yesterday was 9 X 500 meters for 4500m.  Tomorrow's Main Set is 30 X 100m with only 15" Rest.  They better have the defriblilator charged and ready to go!  This Training is crazy!!!  But I kind of like it in a sadomasochistic way!

This is what I ate yesterday, no lie:  HALF of a homemade chocolate cream pie yesterday, two bananas, three Rice Krispie treats, a clif bar, a yogurt smoothie, sweet & salty nut bar, three pork chops and apple sauce!! small bag of potatoe chips, handfull of pretzels, turkey sandwich, two tall glasses of orange juice, two bowls of mini wheats with 2% milk, sweet potatoes, a gel before my swim, a protein shake after, a Red Bull cola, and a package of hostess yellow cupcakes.  I'm amazed I'm not in a diabetic coma... and the scale only had me up by like half a pound.

When Gatorade Endurance first came out they sent me about 20  coupons each for free bottle of GE  for some race I was doing. Seems like the coupon route would be easier way and cheaper way to handle it depending on how wide the product launch and distribution will be to start.

First gone is Gatorade swim then gone Gatorade Endurance on the course as in IMSG and looks like this may be the new drink offered on the course.  If folks train with it giving away a case isn't much compared to how much folks will use in training.

Oh, and a klondike bar.  I need help... I know.   I wish my wife would stop buying all this crap.  I try to explain to her I'm going to eat it all.  But she doesn't get it.  Sigh.

Dreamchaser - its good that you are eating healthy foods mixed in with the processed stuff Tongue out

Question, if Gartorade is out, who is watching our gear after checkin Saturday? All the information stated that representatives from Gatorade will be on hand to watch our gear? Should I bring a bike lock now?

Hey, I just read that.. does this mean Gatorade is out for use on the course.. I use Infinit, but I know what to expect from Gatorade.  58 days notices seems pretty crappy for something this big in-terms of a lot of nutrition training and planning. Even if it IS free, it sucks that they would do this.
