On a brighter note, I'm still crap at cycling! I went out for a 2 hour ride this morning and just couldn't get into it so turned round and headed back to town. I haven't aborted a workout for a very long time.

I've had a cold this week and didn't sleep enough last night but I think it was just a mental thing. I get a bit fed up heading off on a ride knowing how much I suck!

On the way back I got caught up with the Brisbane Tri Squad who were up this weekend doing some training and all of a sudden I felt strong and managed to push harder and I started enjoying the ride. I think I'll have to join the tri club but their training doesn't really fit in with my schedule.

David, I had to cut short a run this week, and I still haven't shaken the bummed feeling that gave me. I'm glad you ran into a group ride to boost your spirits. I've found that just getting out once a week with a running group motivates me through the rest of the week when I'm out there on my own.

Just back in from a beautiful trail run in Noosa national park, the family walked whilst I went off for a run and we all met up for a great brekky: porridge, brown sugar, cooked banana in maple syrup and a large latte! Spring is almost here and the beaches are getting busy again. Sunny and 26 celcius today.

It's Sunday already here which means it's IRONMAN CANADA day! Have a great day Trevor, stay strong and enjoy it!!!

I have a question for the group.  Have you done an IM?  If so, tell us about your first one.

Yup. Here is my first one.

On the edge of my seat as Bree Wee is in 1st place by one minute in Louisville with 6.1 miles to go. I ADORE her and if she pulled out a win today it would just mean the world to her -- this season hasn't exactly been gravy for her. Hope she can do it!!

Tracking Canada too, of course! Go Trevor!!! Tracking IMs in my time zone isn't nearly as fun as watching the ones that are east. But I'll gut it out and see how it all ends...

I am SUCH A DORK!!!!!

Sitting here in tears, literally, a blubbering idiot after watching Bree Wee WIN Louisville. Her FIRST win!! And her son Kainoa is there and it's so special and wow, just wow. It's like the Olympics all over again, only maybe better. So awesome!!

OK, Trevor, no pressure, but see if you can move me to tears later this evening, OK?!! (That's what she said.)

Tough race for me today, my first DNF. It started out pretty great - finished my swim 12 minutes faster than what I had swum last year. Super psyched! But on the bike I make it to the first turnaround and am heading back (about at mile 9) and I call to a girl in front of me that I'm on her right (you pass on the right in the Chicago Tri), she didn't move over, so I called out again, she didnt move over, so I just decided to go around her. But I got my front wheel caught in a crack in the road, lost control and fell on my right then skidded for a couple of feet. I'm fine, a bit road rashy and bruised, but nothing's broken. I jumped right back up and shook out my arms and legs, nothing was broken, so I thought I could get back on my bike. But then saw that my derailleur and cassette were both in pieces so the bike was busted. I got back to the medi tent and got cleaned up. The medi tent was right next to the finish line so that was sad. I don't care that I don't have a medal or a finishing time, but it was hard to see everyone cross the finish line so happy. I think I'm addicted to that feeling in a race where it sucks so bad, but you  push through and finish  totally spent but so proud of yourself and I didnt get to have that today and that's what hurts the most. But I will get to race again and that's what's important.

Going to spend the next couple of hours watching the Ironmanlive feeds. Go Trevor Go!
