Eeekkk.  And ouch!!  That looks painful and bloody and gross.  Hope she's ok!

And x2 on what Stan said about nominating this for the Nicole award

bzgl40 - 2010-04-13 11:07 PM So I was in a funk today and decided to blow off my scheduled ride and got some friends to go mountain biking with me.  We were so close to finishing and one of my friends took a major wipe out and landed on her elbow.  Then she went to emergancy.  Morale of the story is, HTFU and do your schedule or someone will get hurt

Great gift!!!

Betsy0706 - 2010-04-13 5:25 PM And did I mention I have the BEST brother in law ever!  His gift to me was a football signed by all the LSU players.  He even made sure to get my fav player (Trinton Holliday) to sign!

Betsy0706 - 2010-04-13 4:22 PM Hey now!  Just because I am from LA doesn't mean my family is redneck!

Eric and I had an absolutely amazing time.  And lots of memories (good/bad/funny) were made.

Newtons1st - 2010-04-13 3:53 PM Totally awesome wedding. Beer drinking, Shot slamming, all night drunk fest ending in public vomiting at a food establishment no less, with a squirrel mauling. Didnt anyone bring a tranq gun? Doesnt Betsy have some back woods ragin cajun family from LA that would have cooked that booger up in a nice stew?

No kidding...it was funny to see Nik come up to the office because I am not the calm one in matters like this...and when she saw the parent following me, Nik knew it was probably best to diffuse what might have happened. It's nice to have the pool's support too, but I'm wondering if this is going to make for a long year of training there and butting heads. I hope not because I don't want to have to find another facility.

We definitely need a 'golden Nicole award' we can send around the country.  Hope your friend heals up fast.

Sorry about the pool issues Tif it definitely sucks when you are out there doing what you know you need to do and people are getting in the way.

Loving Ken's new signature - way to think positive!  Though I have to admit I am a bit worried as I noticed he was doing an internet search on having fins surgically implanted.

It is gorgeous outside and as Ken mentioned my Dad will be here today high off his visit to watch the Masters!  Aparently he was on TV.  According to him the best part of the whole tournament was when Mickelson got an Eagle on the 14th Saturday.  My Dad was right across from the hole.  The crowd went wild and you can see my Dad in the screen when he retreived his ball.
We get to see Brendan perform today and we are all looking forward to it.

I just might do some training...... tomorrow Wink

Thought I would update the group on my friend, cause darn it, I shouldn't have the shivers on my own.  I had the blessing of actually seeing the injury in person and I am generally not squimish in the least but this was nasty.  It was funny once we got off the trail.  Some guys had passed and saw the elbow and they were still hanging waiting to make sure all was ok and one dude asked if he could take pictures.  It really was that cool.  Anyways, this is from FB, but I was told they left part of the desert in her so I of course had to ask about that.

"Well Kim, it apparently it was shoved about three inches up and down my arm under the skin. He has his hand all inside of my arm digging it out. He did as much as he could. Tina- only five stitches since he was so deep inside under the skin he needed to actually leave it gapping so it could drain. Sally- it was just a small little hill but the sun was setting and I didn't see (or remember) the deep soft sand at the bottom. The front tire sank and I did not. All I can say is thank goodness I had absolutely no visibility of the situation. Gina was intrigued!"

And har har har all of you smarties that think you're so funny.   I have been injury free for like, 3 weeks now.  Gratned, I didn't get out of bed for a week, but that should count for something.

I don't know if this is better than the port-a-potty thunderstorm story, but it's close.  Hahahaha.

So on the way to swim I had to make a pit stop at whataburger. I guess the lights are motion sensored and on a short timer. I am in the larger sitting area with the door closed such that the sensor doesnt pick up and the light go out. I am waving my arms in pitch blackness. Using my keen thinking skills I remember 3 rolls of tp sitting on the hand rail next to me. Lets just say throwing a roll of tp over the top of the door that is about 4 ft away in total darkness is a skill. I nailed the 2nd shot and got the lights back on.

Ok who wants to trade places for a day??  Two tests tomorrow in finance and marketing which both determine what I get in the class (hoping for an A in both but that's not gonna happen I dont think which stresses me out more as I am the over achiever who doesn't settle for less than an A) Then a Pandemic planning role play type thing for like 3 hours for my honors class which I still need to write the paper for and a handout for the class and class from 8-6:15.  Oh yeah and spanish quiz on some article that I have yet to read and I really need to start that 10 page paper  due next week I would've liked to get some training in tomorrow which won't happen at all I dont think.  I also have our final board meeting tonight which is going to take several hours (fun but under the current circumstances not so beneficial to my studying).... Can it be Friday yet????

Hehe... so here's something that I wish someone would have told me when I was in college...

If you end up in a job in media (espeically marketing or advertising) suck it up and love every minute of what you feel like at this exact moment.  Because that level of constant stress/pressure and wanting to implode just to make it stop will be every single day of your "real job" life.

That said, much like in college, if you are successful it is the absolute best feeling in the world, and totally worth it... but stress like that in college is a great way to prepare for it.

And no, it's not Friday yet... darn it.

Don't get me wrong... I thrive under pressure.  That's why I take 19 credit hours every semester because if I take less and have too much free time I slack off.  But tomorrow is going to drag on forever... not excited about this at all.  But what you said is very true.  I know a little over a year from now I'll be experiencing this kind of stress on a normal basis... I can't believe I only have a year left!! Where did the first 3 years of college go??????

LOL, I felt like that about college too.  In fact, I was SO anxious to get out of there I got my 4 year degree in 3 (same deal, 18 credits a semmester, etc)... and then in my last semmester I got mad at myself.  I wanted to stay and be a kid a bit longer.  Being a grown up stinks.

Good luck today, you can doooooooo it.

Cute baby girl story.

So I pick up the baby from daycare about everyday and we get home. I had to pee so I go in the br and shut the door. Of course 5 seconds later I got a little girl banging on the door "Daddy?" (I am sure KK knows about that, kids and lack on alone time). So I yell back "Daddy go pee-pee", since we are in the middle of potty training her. Now she is talking through the space between the floor and the door. I hear this "Daddy pee-pee, yeah daddy pee-pee good job" While clapping her hands. Always nice to get encouragement from your kids.

Emmanem - 2010-04-14 3:10 PM Ok who wants to trade places for a day??
