Mirror lake or some other place? At the swim start or some other place? You can join JMoney at Saranac Lake. Or, alternatively, you can meet up with the rest of us at the swim start (grassy area, under the trees, right next to the beach) at 9am. You won't miss it - there will be about a billion triathletes there on Friday morning. Hopefully no beavers, otters, sharks, etc, etc. the big swim meetup is 9am, friday, at Mirror Lake with all the fishes...Bobby (DC) and Jason (jmoney) are meeting at Saranac Lake Well, there haven't been any alligator sightings in Saranac Lake!! |

Really great sleeping temps (in the 40's)! Did a loop yesterday, minus the out and backs. The low 80 temps were a very welcome change from the heat and humidity. |

Member 75 Huntley, IL | Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Placid : Official Thread Logging on via my iPhone! Pain in the arse though. On our way to LP now on I-81. Planning on going to athlete check in today. Our hotel for tonight is in Schroon Lake though. So, question, is it safe to leave our bikes on the back of our car? We have a lock, but I'm sure the wheels could get swiped. Are people trustworthy? Any place to safely put our bikes? Same thing for 9 am swim, we won't be able to check into our Saranac Lake hotel until 3 pm, so not sure what we will do with our bikes. Safe travels everyone!! |

Regular 77 | Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Placid : Official Thread First 140.3 for me! Big thanks to BT and Mike Ricci for getting me to this point (e.g. mind and body ready to go)! What is the "official" link to track IMLP Athletes? I found the two below http://ironman.com/events/ironman/lakeplacid?show=tracker#axzz211Pg89Mi (is this going to track athletes during the course or only show final time/splits)? http://ironmanlakeplacid.com/ (has an Ironman Live link at top but does not show any options to track athletes) http://ironmanlive.com/tracking.php?race=southafrica70.3&year=2012 (not IMLP but is a tracking site. .does it auto change to IMLP this weekend)? BTW.. the IMLP website is way too complicated to find information / navigate. Hopefully the course is better marked or I'm gonna get just as lost |

Doctor says no Ironman and it's too late to get a 2nd opinion. I'm going to finish packing and head up to Placid in about 3 hours. Trying to get an emergency visit with a Chiropractor at 4pm. I'm freaking out because I hurt so much and not sure how I can swim and bike with my neck like this. Won't know unitl I try cause there is no way I'm this out. See you all tomorrow at the swim. |

Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Placid : Official Thread Thanks Rene!! I got my packet this morning and Marc from Race Day wheels put a sweet Zipp disc on my bike, we hit the expo, saw Jeremy (triguy), shopped the merchandise tent front and back, and I was done with everything by 10:40 AM - all why dragging my wife and two kids along. Easy peasy . The Ironman backpacks at packet pick-up were a very nice surprise. |

Member 75 Huntley, IL | Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Placid : Official Thread Just got done swimming in Mirror Lake. Feels AWESOME, and I was just in my swim suit. I heard the water temp has been hovering around 76 according to a lady at the Orca tent. Contemplating not wearing a wetsuit even if it is wetsuit legal because I don't want to overheat :/Today in LP, the weather is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect temp and breeze; it feels so refreshing! |

I'm finally home now so I can devote 100% of my time to watching the cam of the oval, and checking the weather. Will be leaving first thing in the morning. Safe travels everybody. Ok...looked everywhere and couldn't find the Saranac lake thing anywhere...are ya just trying to freak everyone out or what.....give your source |
