Oh, man, I just missed everyone AGAIN.

Cat, I believe my hubby is closer to you than me at this moment. He's somewhere on the island of Madagascar. I have no idea where on that island, but hey, we're just crossing our fingers for no emergencies. He's been able to call home almost every night since he left. I'm so spoiled.

Yes, training is a pian when hubby's gone. But then again, training is a pain when he's here because all I want to do is spend a little extra time with him before he leaves again.

Sal-how's the weather? I noticed you still show up when someone mentions cheesecake

Kendra-have a great ride on Monday. Glad you're feeling better and better.

Beth-Yay for your girly! You should be one proud momma. Want to share your parenting wisdom? I sure could use some

Heather-which bike shop? Infinite? Or canyon? I know I should know. I'm positive you told me. And you said you were a geek as a kid. Ahem. Were? You're sure about that?

Ok, this is where the late hour makes things a little fuzzy. I can't remember whose story goes with who, so I'll just type at will. Maybe next time I'll try naming everyone. (You may or may not be able to tell who's who... )

Someone's monkey was left at school--BOO daycare.

Someone's boss gave back their feeedom so they can go tri-yay for decent bosses (even if they're only decent when fixing a stupid mistake).

And I'm sure I'm forgetting someone in there. Sorry!

I'm off to bed now. Mwaaaa! night, Nibbs!

Um, yeah. I just looked at a map. i could be off a little, but You are closer to him than I am. And I'm closer to you than I am to him. Of course, my thumb isn't the world's greatest ruler...or is it?

Ok, now I'm going to bed.

Night!

Morning, Nibbs!

Graduation last night was nice - a little long for 6-year-old minds and the reception was poorly run...but the ceremony was very very cute. And Monkey was too. I'll post up a pic later...gotta run them to day care so I can get some work today!

What's happening this weekend for everyone? Any special plans for Memorial Day?

I'm working Sat & Sun and then going on that Motorcycle ride with hubby on Monday.

Guess what I'm doing Memorial Day? Yep. Werk

I'll come up and help Beth with the enchiladas if tequila is involved. My kiddos love going to the library during the summer, too. Very challenging to find the books on the list, though.

Yeah, the schools never want to give the lists to the public library before they hand them out to the kids so we can't even order extra to have enough. Our library system usually doesn't have more than 20-40 copies of a book in the whole system. This is for a county that has over 100K kids in the school system not counting the private schools. Just try to get a book. If you don't get on the reserve list the first week of school being out you just better go and buy the book.

Amy, weather is beautiful, but cool...perfect for bike commuting.  I'm only going in a few times a week, but have logged close to 200 miles on the bike...that comes out to about $40 in gas......every little bit helps...

D001 - 2008-05-23 11:07 AM Cat - Happy Friday!

Thanks! Its a very happy Friday for me!

Oooo. Do you have a hot date?

No such luck! Ive had some health stuff Ive been dealing with (chick related stuff) and it seems to be that things are getting back to normal so the docs (and I) can stop being all concerned! Hoorah!

Now that you've scared off all the male Nibbs ^^^^^^. Glad that things are "getting back to normal."

haha well thats why I havent mentioned it at all up to now... its been an interesting time... lets just say I have never before been happy to have a case of PMS

But there was a funny moment at the doctor... they initially seemed convinced I must be pregnant... despite me explaining that based on what I know of the birds and the bees there is a a man required for that to happen... why would someone lie about something like that? Especially while in a doctors office?

I had this, too. I explained there was no reason for a test like this.... They did one anyway. I was rather annoyed when the insurance bill came in, and I had to pay for a portion of it!

I think it's pretty common that they DON"T take our word for it. They probably think we're dumb or something. (Or sadly lacking in knowledge of reproduction.)

I had a HEALTH/SEX ED teacher in ninth grade who tried to tell us that we could get pregnant by just sitting next to a guy. HA HA, funny funny, except he was serious. Got all the parents in an uproar and needless to say he wasn't teaching it the next year.

anyhooo -

K was named MVP for volleyball and basketball and, most special of all, was the female athlete of the year for the second year

I'm so proud I'm bursting at the seems!

Yeah, I've been AWOL.  Kids activities every night.  My daughter had a recognition dinner this week.  Top 10% in the class were invited.

Really interesting, but almost her WHOLE soccer team was there.  Just another plug for life balance and the importance of fitness in our lives.  Most of those girls are in the band and choir as well...

For my exciting Friday night i went out at lunch and picked up two clarinet reeds... I havent played much in about 5 years so if I get it playing it will be interesting... probably a little scary but how hard can it be to get back into form?

Want to confuse people at work???
Bring your new reeds to work to suck on them....

Howdy Nibbs!  Happy Friday!

Cat, glad the medical stuff is cleared up.  I hate the unnecessary tests.

Dee, like the new avatar.

Beth, glad you finished all the enchiladas.  Wish I could have one (and the shot of tequila)

Kristen, the monkey looks cute.  And a little annoyed that you are taking another picture.

Everyone else, sorry I didn't have anything specific.

Maybe that's why my backwoods backwater town/school district never had reading lists....  I remember in High school you could go to the English teacher for next year and she would give you a twenty year old paperback of To Kill A Mockingbird (or some other classic like that)... Of course I'm sure the teachers thought it a waste anyhow, not most students were more interested in trying to kill themselves water skiing next to offshore boats, bridges, and barges vs anything remotely like an education.  Heck my community didn't even have a library until I was in 4th grade... we DID have the BOOKMOBILE however... now that was cool...
