Hi everyone.  I feel like crap.  Bad migraine.  Took forever to get out of bed today.

Glad I made it here before the thread got pulled.

I had one yesterday.  What was odd, is that I couldn't trace it back to anything this time....

I had to take some pills, put on my eye mask, and try to sleep it off.

{{melon press}} for my Schwammie.

How was seeing Kiley? Apparently you survived

Yay, gently squished melons. My favorite!

Seeing Kiley is always a good thing. We laugh, and it is good.

I had a can of sweetened condensed milk in my pantry that has been there for a year. I decided to try in out in my coffee instead of creamer. It didn't work out as well as I had invisioned.

It's not bad, but not as good as I hoped.

That is all..

for now.

cafe con leche made with sweetened condensed milk is delicious.  You need to use more of it than you would use cream to make the coffee really good.

I'll try that on the next cup.  Need to use it up anyway.  I hate to waste...

To answer your question Ryna.

cami bee - 2008-10-13 10:56 AM

TAN: I have a class I really don't like and that I don't think is doing much for me academic-wise. If I drop it, then I have to take something else, probably in the spring. However I had planned on taking a trip in the spring (tix already purchased through frequently flier miles). If I drop this class now, then I would be (a) happier and (b) more productive towards the things that would really matter but I would have to eat the cost of the plane tix taxes and the redeposit fee. At this point I don't mind taking a spring class I just want to make sure I'm making the best decision.

Thoughts?

Gah, sorry. Missed that post. Personally, if I had a trip planned, I'd stick it out. You're this far into it... might as well finish. I have a feeling you'll be sitting in that class in the spring, wishing you were on the trip, mad at yourself for not just finishing the class in the fall...

Yeah, the wrench is that I might still be asked to take another class because I don't have any real non-technical courses - and a non-technical course might be  considered useful for my future plans.  However, it will depend on whether or not I have prelims before the start of term or in the middle of the term.  I don't want to off my committee but I don't want to waste my limited time either.  Oi.  And it looks like I'll be taking a class over the summer too.

I stayed in bed forever this morning.  I took some meds, but so far not really a help.  May have to go up to the prescription meds, but I really hate taking them.  They make me feel strange.

I know how you feel.

I have some migraine formula of something (excedrine?).  Probably the same as all the rest.  I usually double up on the doseage.  Put something firm under the back of my neck (like a rolled up towel) to sort of cut off the blood flow, which seems to numb it a little.  The mask lets me relax the face and keep the light out.  that usually works.  Takes an hour, but it works.

I once took an online marketing class over the summer. Is that an option? Then you could take your trip and take a class...

I don't know.  Perhaps I should talk about it with my advisor some more.  I could always try to move the trip.  We'll see.

It depends.  Food and hormones are big triggers.

So, without any details, was TAN 52 yanked for being bad in a "good and fun" way, or yanked for being bad in a "rude and hurtfull" way?

I sure hope it was the former.  I laf when it gets yanked for those reasons...

I think it depends on the person.  You can do some googling.  Foods with high sodium levels will give me migraines.

ATXtri - 2008-10-13 1:05 PM What causes migraines?

For me, stress, being dehydrated, weird sleep schedules.  Sometimes they just happen (like this one).

In the brain, the blood vessels usually open up too much and let too much blood it which causes all kinds of weird things.

My understanding was that it was pulled because of the title.  I was around and didn't actually see it.

That's the majority of the reasons for me.  That's why yesterday was so odd.  I was drinking lots of water, enjoying the day out and relaxed...

Could have been something I ate...

Rynamite - 2008-10-13 1:11 PM I feel bad for you people that get migraines often. I've had two in my life, and they were AWFUL.

They are miserable.  At one point, I was having about 1 or more per week.  Then I went on medication to prevent them.  It helps, but I still get them once in awhile.
