Is that what you tell yourself climbing hills?  "Float like a butterfly, Fred, float like a butterfly."  That's my new LP hill climbing mantra!    And I'm gonna picture you saying it and smile.

I think what Fred is suggesting "Float like a butterfly... " is not have excessive weight going up the first set of climbs.  Then pickup water at the first water point.

No way taz, that's his mantra.

Ok it's my mantra... actually it was Ali's mantra

Hmmmmmm, Fred as a buttryfly. What kind of butterfly would he be? Monarch is out, he wouldn't look good in Black and orange. Tiger maybe? At least he made it out of the cocoon.

PennState - 2009-07-16 3:50 PM I would definitely be the kind of butterfly that stings a lot...yeah that's it the kind that stings!

Not so much what I pictured.  I pictured pretty, yellow, & super sweet, flapping it's dainty little wings around in the sunshine....

...float like a butterfly...

I'll be the first to say it..

I LEAVE IN THE MORNING! :-)

Heading up to Vermont first for the Appalachian Trail Conference, hoping I can keep myself in check and not overdo it on the trail hikes.  I don't suppose anyone else in this thread is partaking in this foolishness the week of their race? :-)

I spent 3 hours on the water lifeguarding then another 8 hr watching finishers.  I watched KathyG and PennState come in and some other BT’er.  The last hour were so amazing.  I was so pumped I couldn’t get to sleep until 2 am.  The next morning (5’ish) I got up and ran 8 miles.

Just trying to get everyone PUMPED up!! (or scared.. either one..)

Regardless I was FREEZING last year! Us Texans just don't know how to deal with anything less than 100 during the summer

Well, when you get done, in 9 hours, feel free to put them on again and head out to mile 24.

I get into LP on Wed night.  Last year I found that the Courtyard Marriott has an awesome pasta AYCE bar where you fix whatever you want and give it to the cook and he cooks it up just the way you like it.  Good way to get exactly what you want and eat healthy.  Kind of pricey though, I think it was near $20.  I think they may have even had whole wheat pasta.

Might not be in the mood for AYCE pasta though after the IM pre race meeting night.

I really meant the athlete dinner... which is Friday?

Well that is a better plan.  b/c I was thinking Sat night is really not the night to be out imo.

Sounds yummy!  We are staying in an efficacy to reduce our eat out cost.  Will probably try to make the athletes dinner with PennState.
