Hellllooooo...

I am alive and well, just busy, but I shall work on increasing my post padding thread contributions.  My life reads a little bit like a soap opera at the moment.

Need to update the spreadsheet but I did another slog in.  The weather here in the A-T-L is amazing!

miss thing had a lovely post about her cross country meet today but the computer ate it......

She was playing cat & mouse with a couple other girls the whole course and lunged at the finish to grab 5th place which gave her team the win.  WTG miss thing!

Game one of the NLDS Rockies vs. Phillies.

Game one of the ALDS Twins vs Yankees!

The Yankees are currently under the "Reverse Curse of the Bambino" so you will have to wait another 100 years for a world series title.

The Yankees win! Arod goes 2-for-4 with 2 rbi's; looking good!

Ok so I really want to run outside but it's going to be chilly this weekend. And since I'm a big wussy and don’t want to be cold; I would like to dress warm. Can anyone tell me what should I wear? Thanks a bunch Smile

Oh and tonight I have 4 miles, maybe 5 if I feel up to it... Tongue out

Here's a chart that I found on the Runner's World site a couple years ago.  I'm glad I held on to it, because it's no longer there.  Only recommendations and a starting point.  Modify it as you need to.

P.S.  I also added a wind chill calculator at the bottom of the chart to give you the 'real' temperature.

...and by the way, what other precipitation is there besides rain and snow...hail...meteors...dust...Dorothy's house from Kansas...a cow?  It just made me laugh, but I left it on the chart anyway...

Let me know if you can't pull up the chart, and I'll save it as an older Excel file (xls)

O.K. here it is in xls format...

With cold weather running, you DO NOT want to dress too warm, because that will cause you to sweat.  If you're wearing technical wicking clothes, you should be ok, but if you're wearing cotton clothes (which absorb and hold on to moisture), in very cold weather, that's just a recipe for hypothermia.  A nice cold, wet layer of cotton acting as a heat sink against your skin...boo...

Good for you for getting out in the cold...don't follow my example...I'll take an indoor track and a treadmill over running outside when it's 10 degrees F...

I am wussy enough to know that I am going to need something to keep me warm but not wussy enough to put 15 layers on. If that helps any…Smile

light weight hat
light weight gloves
