Rain, rain, go away, come again another day!  Another day of glooming wet weather here.  We haven't seen the sun in over a week.  Depression is starting to set in.

Anyways, good morning all!  Depending on how I feel, I'm hoping to do a short run and trainer ride this afternoon.

Keep up the good workouts team!

G'morning team Smile

Last night I had a 1/2 hr lifting session.  I was planning on going for an hour, but I lift with a friend and I'd forgotten his home gym doesn't have all the equipment I needed for the 2nd half of my planned workout.  So I'm planning on finishing up that workout tonight at my regular gym.

I also got a yoga class in this morning.  It felt really good to stretch out!  I have a run planned for this evening, but I think it'll just be at the gym on the treadmill... I think I might be coming down with a headcold or something after this weekend's bout of outdoor activity so I don't want to spend too much time outdoors until I get over this thing.

Happy training, everyone!

Sorry, don't feel bad for you at all!! Come up for some northern winter! It's gonna warm up this week to just above freezing for a few day! oooh tropical!

:D  just kidding - well, sort of! I get tired of winter very quickly!

Morning Team!

Still doing well with the challenge. My goals  are aggressive and i am feeling the pinch of committing to so much.  but it's still in hand. I am keeping my % in line with the progress through the month so that's good!

How's everyone else doing?

Hi everyone.  I'm doing pretty well with my goals - ahead on the run and swim and a little behind on the bike and weights.   I will have no problem with the weights, but will struggle if I can't get in some more rides outside.  I can only tolerate about 30 minutes on a health club bike before the seat is killing me.

Great work everyone!! January can be tough and we're holding strong!

Personally, my motivation is still high. though it seems to be a bit of push to get myself out the door.

Had a great hill run last night and a swim this morning to add to the spreadsheet so i am still all set to have a 100% challenge! woo! And will bike on the trainer tonight! :D

Have a great day!

Boy, do I need some motivation today... anyone have any extra to spare? This cold weather is really giving me the blahs... Combined with my husband having to work late this week and me being on "full time duty" with the kids at night after work, my run did not happen yesterday. The good news is that Netflix is delivering more Jack Bauer to me today so I'm looking forward to the trainer tonight! I Just need a kick in the butt to make up my run first!!

Hi Team!  Great job everyone on staying on track.  I swear, every time I look at this thread, I get more motivated to stay on track and get all my January goals done.

I'm pretty much on track with my running & yoga goals.  I'm falling a little behind on my strength training goals, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make up for lost time.

I had a pretty kick- interval run last night, but wasn't able to squeeze in the 2nd half of Monday's strength workout.  I'll try to make up for it over the weekend.  Tonight, I'm planning on lifting for an hour.

Hi all - I'm very late to the thread but that's why I get for trying to catch up before I post.  Embarassed  In a way, I am both glad and sad that I did.  I missed some great conversations but at least I got to read them, especially the part about Dee and her handlbars!  The wine, marathon training and running aches and pains conversations were also great!

I'm just about on target with my goals for the month and have been gaining speed as the month moves on.  I think the hardest part for me is just getting back into a routine after taking several months off.

With that being said, great job everyone so far and let's keep it up!

Alright, I got a 7 mile run in this morning.  I forced myself to run super slow while focusing on form, specifically shorter stride with a light, springy foot strike.  Gluts were a little tight, but no numbess today.  Plan is to remove intensity for the time being while I rebuild volume.  I'm even thinking about breaking up my long run with some walking breaks for this week.

I decided on trying A.R.T. therapy after receiving recommendations here on BT.  I was able to find a local sports medicine chiropractor that specializes in the treatment.  Unfortunately, due to scheduling, I can't get into the office until next Friday.  So, in the meantime, I'm going to keep things light and stay with the TP ball and stretching.

Keep those numbers up!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Just finished my 18 miler. At this moment I am inhaling food, I'm so hungry.

I kept my pace slow, especially on the second 9 miles, as I took walk breaks every few miles to mimic the water stations on the race course, which I intend on walking for my first marathon. I was pretty tired at the end, but my strategy worked as I don't feel so bad right now. In a bit I'll jump in the ice bath and then probably a nap later. I feel exhilarated!

smart move to dial it back.   Stretch those gluts AFTER you hit em with the TP ball.

Made up my run from yesterday. Did my situps and pushups. The did my ride on the trainer. I came up a little short on the trainer, but I had an extra 5 miles in the bank so overall I'm exactly where I planned to be. It was after 9 and I just didn't have more in me tonight...

I lifted for an hour today, then stretched and foam rolled.  I found a bunch of knots in my calves that I didn't know where there!  I'm going to try to go to yoga tomorrow morning again, maybe it'll help loosen up my knots!

Just got in a bit of stretching. May do a light spin on the trainer later, got a new pair of much needed bike shorts so I want to try them out. Feeling pretty good today. I really do think it's my stretching routine that makes a huge difference.

Probably will not do much else today, have lots of work to do anyway.

Cheers everybody!

Hi team!

I can definitely feel that it's thursday and my rest day is imminent. Got in a swim this morning and a spin last night but both were sluggish.   I just have a tempo run tonight and then it's a day of rest which i think my body is asking for and I will grant!

We're actually having some above-freezing temps so it's nice change of pace.

I know there's a lot of bad news out there but this team is great! Way to be supportive and positive!

Happy thursday!
