Sorry, not sure either.

At my last race on the run, i was passing a water station and waved off one of the volunteers who was holding out a cup of water in front of me.....sooooooo they threw it in my face. Actually felt good and was pretty funny but I'm not really sure what I did for that response. I know this doesn't help but your question reminded me of it.

I hope they don't have cups of water on the bike!

You said I'd beat you at London too and you ended up being 12mins quicker than me!

At the moment I'm going to be glad just to finish as I have managed to bruise the muscle at the top of my right knee and (2.5 weeks later) still finding it sore just cycling to the end of the road and back(0.2miles)!

Stav's training has been pretty consistent which will pay dividends.  Then again, it looks like both of you have been neglecting the swim.  Are you duathletes or triathletes?!  Surprised  You seem more like me -- lots of biking!

This weekend I have Bike MS.  I am planning to do the double century -- 100 miles each day.  The only thing that could derail those plans is weather.  In the event of a thunderstorm, I'd head straight back in to the start/finish/camp area.  I think it'll be fine (40% chance of rain according to one weather site, less than that according to others).

Then I have a sprint at the end of the month.  T1 and the swim are similar to my half iron distance in November.

I met with a coach about my swim and I think that we figured out what's going on.  Implementing that is my next challenge.  The bike and the run go well for me but swimming has been a source of frustration.  I know that a lot of it has to do with the fact that I am new to it but still...

I hope that everyone else is doing well!  I am loving the cooler temperatures and lower humidity.  This morning it was in the 70s when I ran.  Woo hoo!

How did the double century goes Janyne?

Personally, my knee has finally recovered enough to get back on my bike for the first time in 2 weeks! And just in time too as the next race is only 13 days away.

Thanks for asking!  The first day ROCKED!  I had a blast.

We were camping.  Rain came in overnight.  The #$%%$@#%$^ event organizers decided that the THREAT of POSSIBLE thunderstorms meant no 100 on Sunday (they closed the 30 mile course and the 100 mile course and made everyone ride either 50 or 75).  The roads were wet and it drizzled on us but nothing bad.  I mean, it was like 80 degrees out so no threat of hypothermia or anything.  I understand that they needed to pre stage the volunteers, etc. but I think that they WAY overrated.  50% chance of storms means 50% chance of nothin' too.  Anyway, I got about 180 in and had a good time.

Next up...  Wilmington Sprint in a week and a half.  The reason that I'm doing this is that the swim is very similar to the half iron that I'm doing in two months.  Less that two months to go!  Woo hoo!

Wow did I speak too early! Had my first accident this morning.
Doing about 20mph (thankfully I'm a bit slow on the bike, it was downhill) a car decided to turn straight across my path. Managed to swerve and brake enough so I only hit the rear side on, but have fractured the 5th metacarpal in my left hand.
Quick inspection on the bike only looks like the rear wheel is broken, but I'll need to get a LBS to do a full check.
Guess my race in 10 days is looking a bit sketchy at the mo

Oh no!  I'm so sorry to hear about the wreck.  Did you get info from the car involved?   I hope that they will help pay for the wheel.  That ain't cheap.  I broke my right pinky finger in an accident.  Fortunately, I was able to ride while it recovered.  I had to go to physical therapy for it too.  I felt so weird going to PT for my pinky finger!  I couldn't bend it properly though and the PT fixed it all up.

I broke a wheel once too -- the bike was on the car and I hadn't fastened it properly (it was DH's car and DH's roof rack and I was not familiar with it -- clearly!).  The bike fell off the top and the wheel got a dorked up.  Fortunately, the wheel was cracked elsewhere and the LBS did a warranty return on it and I got a replacement wheel.

Congratulations!

I had a sprint on Saturday as well and it was the most fun!  I am really stoked for my HIM now.  Six weeks of training left...

Excellent work Adam!  Thanks for letting us know Stavros Laughing

What do you Londoners have coming up next?  Any big plans?

There is an OWS sprint in October that Adam wants to do, but for me the season is over as my hand won't be healed in time and I probably won't have a bike for a couple of months.

Roll on April (good old English weather = short season!)

Ah!  Off season running?  I have my first half iron distance in November and my first marathon in February.  Everything else is up in the air.

Lots of talk on ST about IM Wales (is that for sure?) and IM Ireland...  Is that on your radar at all?
