I couldn't get Superman to meet up for drinks, he was all "yeah soon!" but wouldn't commit. So, whatevs. 
I ended up randomly meeting up with a guy friend and his group Friday night (dumb blonde martini girl was in this group), met a single Air Force hottie, he invited me out Saturday night with the same group, twas fun.

Another real conversation:

Same blonde: I wanna dance!
Guy: Go stand near the dance floor, someone will ask you.
Same blonde: I did that, and no one asked! (pout)
Guy: Don't know what to tell ya.
Same blonde: I mean, I'm a MODEL! Why doesn't anyone find me attractive?! 

Happy Monday.  For the first time in more than a year, we spent Friday night through Monday morning at the lake.  It was fun.  My sister was visiting with my Mother so I got a weekend off.  I will go see Mother on Tuesday.

I got trapped in the boat house during a thunderstorm, yesterday.  There was lightning and thunder all around me, then wind and monsoon rainfall rates.    The boat house is really just a roof on a floating dock without sides.  I got the full benefit of Mother Nature's power.  It was impressive.

Back at the grind.  Gee whiz, I wish they would let me retire. I would live at the lake full time in the summer and in Atlanta in the winter.

PS  I got nothing to compete with Lisa and the Wichita dating scene.

It was really lovely. I went out with the surf piglets and hung out with a bunch of young (hot) very huggy kissy Russians. Best pastries ever.

YANTI!  how the heck are you?  Back in Chi-Town after a week in Colorado for my grandmothers funeral services.

Interesting couple of days at the office.  Stuff is all discombobulated.  Lost power, water, job is in turmoil.

BUT, we have a hot little college student starting with us this morning.  Interesting...  Not interested, but interesting to see the office react.

Not trying to burst your bubble and maybe guys are different... BUT, if it were me and I was interested in a girl enough to maybe get serious with?  I would want to spend a LOT of time with them and lock down dates.  If he is like "whenever" and doesn't commit, I'm guessing he is NOT interested in settling down.

A lot of girls say they are models and I'm like "REALLY"?????   I don't see it.

And she sounds like one I would avoid.  Sounds a bit high maitenance to me.

My week is starting good.  The sun is shining, and my various aches and pains are just aches and pains.

Hey Yanti, it will be 38 years of marriage this month plus 6 years of dating.  Amazing that she can stand it.

Why not?

Even though they were pretty young ... I guess we all are, relatively, we told hilarious stories about growing up and the awful stories we heard about those robot red Commies and the ones they heard about those bacchanalian superstitious Americans.

Only a few folks spoke both Russian and English and all of us were talking and laughing and yelling at once and understood each other anyway.

Oh yeah, Bali is THE vacation spot for Russians. It's a much better and cheaper holiday for them than to go within Russia or Europe, and depending where they are, not that much of a further flight.

Also, for some weird reason, surfing has gotten huge there, except the surf there isn't so great, so they come here.
