Where are these people that will say that though? 

I know there plenty to be had in egineering, BUT I don't do it for the glory!

I really don't care - I just chuckle and in that "I told you so" and move on. 

This was particularly gratifying since we have a young designer who thinks they are all that and rejected my idea.  It's funny to see him spend a couple hours on it just to pull my napkin out of the trash and go with that.

But seriously though.  I'm having an issue now...  One of those "if I want it done right, do in yourself" moments.

The boss and I started to look REALLY close at things on the plan that at the surface, looks good, but up close - best case, questions from the contractor to clarify, worst case, they build it and we get sued or backcharged for making it right.

Careful with even so much as an implication of "I told you so" - I got in trouble for that this week. Sucks because CLEARLY I was right, everyone agreed. But apparently you're not supposed to take that tone with people 5 pay grades above you. Who knew.

Oh it absolutely is funny!!  Great to get a good chuckle like that on a friday.

I'm lucky though.  There is only one pay grade above me and he give me my respect! 

Plus, the team I'm on see to go out of their way to give credit where credit is due.  There is only one glory hound out of 25 people on the team (he is also a bit prone to tossing you under the bus - but everyone realizes that so it doesn't carry much weight anymore).

I learned when I was dating to not think about if they are dating someone else - just put them out of your mind and think about YOUR time.  Otherwise, I was getting myself all worked up.

That's at the beginning of course - as things develop, that should be a concern.

I wonder if that's not because those songs had their copyright's expire and someone bought them and sells them cheap???

I really wish you a nice guy, Wienerlisa ... honestly, it seems like you've had a string of idiots who didn't deserve you. Okay, they were good-looking, intelligent, sometimes even well-mannered idiots, but still.

I'm still going with too many men are just too messed up.
