This is a screenshot of the TR 20 minute test I took today. I could feel the churning of my tummy on this one.

Good stuff!  What do the red and yellow lines signify?  Is the like marked FTP what TR evaluated your FTP at based on the test?  If so, that's quite a bit higher than the 115 you got from the 8 minute test!

Red is heart rate/yellow is power. I'm definitely going to try a few more tests. The first one I did (8 minute test)  measured FTP, this 20 minute measured LTHR.

Hello Skrat!  Wow, way to jump into tri with both feet.  Welcome from an old timer (nice to not be the newest member now!).  Wink

What a great workout day.  6.6 mile run with a ~2mile hard push around Walden pond then a chill jog back home through Thoreau's trails.  Can't believe I haven't run Walden or those trails until now!  We've been in Concord for a couple years now - better late than never!

Then a cold ride around town (a good 22+ miles) - when the sun goes down, it gets chilly.  At least I only saw what I think was a single snowflake.  Tongue out

Matt

Had an awesome mountain bike ride today.  Although by the end I could tell my legs were not use to biking.  I learned today that lizards are a tad bit suicidal.  In Tucson it was always the bunnies that were suicidal.

I passed the famous Mr Dunn on the way as he was biking down the Beeline.  I knew it was him before I even got beside him cause the bike was moving fast.  I don't often see them moving quite that fast.  lol

Had a very successful race pace brick today.  Aimed for 210w for 2:30 and pretty much nailed that without doing anything stupid (because it was feeling a little easy at times).  Then ran 4 miles at around 7:50 pace...which is right around what I had "hoped" I would run, but realistically was thinking 8:05-8:10 would be more likely.

Nice day today, B/R/S. Some things are coming back around.

Rode about an hour to Blender, up into the sprints. 287 ave wasn't too hard, but wasn't sure how it would affect other things as I haven't ridden much the last couple weeks. Nice to see running economy is coming back around as the hamstring is loosening up, 7:20-7:30 pacing was easy. No idea on the swim, other than "yes", but that's good news since it's been a full 2 weeks and think I still have a decent feel of the water. That bug last week really messed me up (nailed my whole family, actually), so worked my way back into things this past week. Somehow getting my running in order seems to straighten out the other two more quickly, so that's what I did first.

Was that with Quarq or PT ? Are you seeing consistency between the two ?

PT only.  Haven't gotten the Quarq set up on the TT bike yet as I'll need some help from my mechanic.  Requires a new FD, and bottom bracket (which I already have), but also a new chain and some expertise getting everything right.  Hopefully by next weekend.

Welcome Chad.  That's a smoking 12k time for someone who just started running.  I'm scared to know how fast you swim and bike!!!

Haha.. I was running naked too (I do that for races).

I was going for a sub 7:00 min mile pace and missed it by 2 seconds overall! I couldn't believe it.  2 more seconds, and I'm 6:59 avg.  It was hard to know how hard to push, because I was running in Canada, and every time I would ask someone our pace, they told me in minutes per km.. I couldn't do the math that fast while running.  LOL.

1:02 IM swim last year, without really trying, and stopping to make sure a swimmer in a later wave was ok.  I spotted him in the middle of Lake Tahoe - hips sinking, looking really bad.  So I stopped - flagged down a paddle boarder, and then swam on.  My goal this year is a sub 1 hour swim.

6:15 on the bike.  Again - not really trying.  It was comical, and according to he ladies at one of the aid stations, I won their "favorite cyclist award."  That might have something to do with the fact that I stopped - borrowed a chair, took off my shoes, massaged my feet, ate food, and flirted heavily with them.    This years goal is 5:30 for the bike.

Ha, that's awesome.

I had a great 19k run today.  I was a bit worried that my 2:15 trainer ride yesterday would have me a bit tired but it didn't seem to be an issue at all.

My wife is going to be on a course in Halifax next weekend and I am going to go with her for the weekend.  There happens to be a masters swim meet on Saturday so for kicks I signed up for 4 events - 50 breast, 50 fly, 1500 free and 100 free.  The 100 free is only a few races after the 1500 so it may not go over so well if I don't get much time to recover.  Should be interesting.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Ya,  today was long run day.

I had a 90min, 45 ez, 25 tempo, 20 ez....and decided to try pacing by HR just for hoots.

It was nice and steady, steadier than by pace.

I also broke in a new pair of shoes which always feels good.

No snow, sunshine...spring has sprung

WOW..that should be fun!  Please post your times.  Since we are twins - I want to know what I could swim if I raced those events.    I haven't raced a breast stroke in 25 years!  Used to be my favorite event.

The Triathlon of wedding-family bbq-birthday party yesterday really wore me out. The bday party was for a cycling buddy so that was fun, esp as I didn't recognize half the people without their cycling gear on!

I was a bit wore out today but did a ride up South Mtn with friends, unfortunately my chain came off and got jammed into my rear derailler almost sending me headfirst over the handle bars. I managed to clip out in time but I had a heck of a time getting the chain unjammed. After that, my chain came off 2 times and it seems really loose. Luckily all this happened on the way up the hill, I came down the hill in the big ring so it was fine.
