unless you are racing for money (ie; you are a pro) this is supposed to be fun.

Doesn't mean you can't be competetive, but at the end of the day we all go back to our jobs/lives after LP. ie; doing well at LP does not pay the bills

Yes it is fun, but I am about serious fun.

If you’re in my AG and placed 1-19 last year I am coming for you.

I like the idea of "serious fun".  Despite it being an oxymoron

But to spice things up, perhaps we can set up some BT Specific Challenges for the 25th.   For instance, BT Ironman Rookie.  I'll throw my hat into that ring.

I know Cuse will want to join   (And I know chances are Cuse is going to be faster than me on Race Day, but I'll shoot for a Podium.  We can have our our AG Podiums, Male and  Female, clydesdale, etc...  It's up to you guys.

So I'll start: BT IronRookie Category.  Who's in?  I know Mike is in...   It'll give me a friendly competitive carrot to chase on race day when I'm at mile 129.9 with a little over 16 miles to still run!!

Cusetri, DreamChaser, who else??? Mcluvin, lunchbox?

Hey, I’ve been wearing lycra since the early eighties.

It's like a second skin to me.

I don’t care what the good old boy’s say either.

Hey I still consider myself a IronRookie.  Can I get some of that action?

I figure once I hit 10 Ironmen, I’ll be a vet.

considering the size of this thread...maybe 10-20 active people, I propose two categories

OA IMLP Thread, Male
OA IMLP Thread, Female

I gotta go to bed....swim in the AM!

dont take my war analagy so litteral.....

all we have been doing on this thread for the past 10 months is prepare for battle an IM race, discussing everything from our weapon choices gear ratios, to the battle field terrain.

also, I think Dan was dumbing down.  I think he has studied this course more than most.  Jorge has scouted it, several times, and the two of them have had several conversations about it.

I'll totally join in, but with no hope at all of placing. I'm a total slowpoke. But, it'll give the fastie who easily beats me a larger number of rookies to say she beat. One of the many services I provide.

Mcluvin22 - 2010-06-09 9:39 AM I don't know if anyone remembers but a while back I posted a comment about post race stomach cramps and several of your offered some suggestions. Well, I just wanted to say thank you. I raced this weekend at Mooseman 70.3 and tried out some of your suggestions like actually doing a cool down and then eating something shortly after and it worked! After I crossed the finish line I was greeted by my friends and then I started talking and all of a sudden I could feel the cramps coming, so I told everyone I would be back and then walked off and did a cool down and the cramps went away immediately. It was awesome being able to enjoy my PR and second 70.3 and not be pain! Thanks for the advice.  Oh and after the pictures I enjoyed one huge cheese burger!

Good for you!  Looks like you had a great race with some sweet times.  Congrats on the PR

Enter me in the BT'ers travelling from Okinawa group and I'm bound to freakin' podium!

I'm getting really excited, I'll be flying back to Maryland in just over a month, it's going to be hard no to go crazy on all the food until after the race.

There will be a large group of my family on Lake Placid Club Dr. to cheer on all the BT'ers.  I'm having a smaller version of a family reunion and we rented a house that's right on the course.  We'll pass it on the bike and the run, they'll have a sign and food a plenty for any other BT family members that want to drop on by.  At the least they'll be able to use a real bathroom!  I'll give out more details for those who'd like them.

PennState - 2010-06-09 6:38 AM Iron rookie. Male is Cuse. Female is Alaina. Heck those 2 are likely to be top 2 BTers overall not even thinking rookie stuff.

.....thanks for the confidence, Fred...seriously!!!!!

rookie and OA you got to throw in Yeats and rscheung....Both are very low key, not very much like me at all (im sooo verbose), but both are more than ready based on training.....

Jazz...yeah....put her in the OA category, forget about Male/female......

And Fred, I think you are goint to do very well....last year you did very little running, still did great, and this year I think you are coming into it in even better shape....

Truth is, there is a lot of good competition right here in this thread.  Also, I just want to clear the air my comparison to war was not meant as it was perceived, though I can surely understand how some took it that way.

I am in for the last rookie to finish, hell I may be that guy crossing at midnight (although I sure hope not). Truly hoping to break 15 on this.

By the way - what is OA?
