Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Big congrats to Barry, Joe, Ernesto, Andy, and Chris! All I can say is WOW! This group is the coolest ever. Chris, so glad you're going to Boston. OK, I have purposely tried to stay away from this forum because I was afraid I would want to go workout before my body was ready. It's worked. I have been eating and drinking (alcohol) whatever I want and taking lots of naps. I like recovery so much better than taper. I've done lots of reflecting. I have decided to NOT do the Houston marathon and instead do the Cowtown in February in Ft Worth, as long as the recovery doesn't interfere with my triathlon season next year. So now I'll be figuring out what my tri season is going to look like next year. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Congratulations to all the racers! Great results this weekend! Probably the most races I have seen here on any given weekend! Ernesto, hat off for the podium! Chris, Andy, Joe, Barry - good to see you guys all are making progress! First OWS this season for me in the lake nearby. A bit on the cool side, but pleasant. Did 1500m in 33min. Had a no sleaves wetsuit and the extra floatation in the legs felt weird, having to sight was also something to get used to... so were the ducks, fishes, bubbles coming from the bottom, choppy surface, murky water and bliding sun. Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This morning: 35m on the trainer - efficiency drills. Also, think leg is finally getting closer to 100%. I coach my daughters soccer team. We did a scrimmage at the end of practice and we were short a player so I played as well. Lots of accelerations, cuts, stops, etc. No soreness in the leg at all. Still keeping my runs to 3 days a week through the end of Oct, then adding a fourth per week in Nov and then hoping to get to 5 per week in Dec. Slowly will increase the distance of some of the runs. Plan is to be all set to move in to half marathon plan in late december or early january. Ernesto S 2/B 4/R 3 Rest 1 Total 9 9:22:40 Edited by dangremond 2012-10-08 6:59 AM |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hey everybody - great results and progress from all - congrats! Apologies I have been lurking for what seems forever - family and work just got crazy this summer, but I managed to keep a level of training together to finish the season with a race at the weekend. Did really well with lots of positives and negatives to focus on during the off season. Next goal is to train for a Half before I start to take it easy durign the winter. Keep up the great work everybody! Mark. |

![]() | ![]() Rest day for me today. Good news. Boston 2013 was mistakenly closed on the website yesterday. But they opened it up again today. I am in for 2013, barring some screw up on my or their part. So I don't have to wait 18 months. (And my time is eligible for 2014 as well). |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I must say, I am impressed by your BQ Chris too. How can anyone run so fast for so long is beyond me. Another OWS and a short bike for me today. Swam 1500m in 32min and then biked for 30min as I got home. It was commuting, but it still counts. ![]() | ![]() Thanks all. But just wait until Joe Petto goes. (Also, looking at E's heart rate/pace ratio for his training runs, I'm scared of how fast he will run his next standalone marathon.) |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 1,500 swim. Scheduled 2,100 but stopped at 1,500+ due to a pull sensation on my right hamstring after a push from the wall. Don't think is anything serious, but better safe than sorry. Andy S 2/B 5/R 3 Rest 2 Total 10 12:37:27 |
