Master 1485 | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid : Official Thread Marvarnett - 2009-12-07 12:42 PM I agree...actually after a full season (including an Ironman) of wearing just tri shorts, I find bike shorts to be uncomfortable and the tri shorts are perfect.Livestrong191 - 2009-12-04 4:18 PM Question um the Pro`s dont change there cloths besides putting helmet in T1 and put on socks and shoes in T2 do they have special comfy gear we all do not know about? I would actually say that tri clothing is just as comfortable as any other. I think the problem arises when people don't train in tri shorts during the season and then try and race in them. Get use to your tri shorts for long rides and you'll be solid. I own 2 pairs of bike shorts and they are only used when I run out of tri shorts. Does't matter if it's a 20 mile or 120 mile ride. |

I've found that the higher-end (more expensive) tri-shorts do have more comfy chamois pads. Once in a while, I'll do a short ride (45 mins to an hour) wth just plain running shorts on. Then when I put on my tri-shorts for the next ride, it feels like I'm riding on a pillow I do know quite a few AG'ers that do the Bike course with bike pants and then change to tri-shorts. I just always road in tri shorts and now I'm used to it. A generous dollop of Vaseline right before also works wonders Thought you were gonna rock the speedo? |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid : Official Thread 20+ minutes is easily a 4 mile headstart. If I average 20 and you average 16, then it is an hour before I could even expect to see you. Which would be more at the turn from Keene, but I was giving you a bit of credit for mad cycling skillz that you will be developing over the winter. Plus I like nice pace booty so I may not be in a hurry to pass. |

Except that this time Jorge is racing so he won't be able to tell me that this not a parade when i beg to walk the entire thing. ....Oh wait, pretty sure he'll be done before i get off the bike. Except I don't really kick much, so I'm not sure i'm the best to draft off of. I did not have one person touch my toes that entire swim. I like this. I, OTOH, pizz everyone off b/c my fingers touch their toes constantly. Good thing I learned to draft the day before the race! You don't have to navigate that course if you breathe left. Those bouys are 100 yds apart. I want to draft off Stocks if he's racing. Nice strong 6 beater! |
