I just started an antidepressant today.  This will hopefully bring my sleeping/reading spree to an end and I will back to other things...like keeping y'all updated.  On the upside...all that sleeping and reading somehow managed to take an inch off my waistline and my clothes are fitting again (more likely that the med that made me so depressed also caused a significant appetite reduction and I no longer am craving huge amounts of carbs/sugar).  I just need to remind myself to eat and to make it a balanced diet.

Got to go for now.  I need to pick up some meds from my doctor.  He is 3 cities over and it makes it a bit of a drive.

mchally - 2010-01-04 2:37 PM I think that I am going to add This to my race schedule this year.  My little bit of cyclocross experience will pay off.

That sounds so awesome.

Very cool!  I've heard xterra races are really fun, but I'm too big of a chicken to try.

I don't think that I've every been much of a chicken.  I use to ski when I was little... I was fearless...I would fly down the double diamond runs.  My poor dad was left with my very cautious little sister.

Since then I have learned that a little caution is a good thing.    I still have a thing for speed though...

Jen - You just need a friend to join you in an xterra race...to take it nice and easy and have a good (and very memorable) time.  That, and a MTB.

I flew over the handlebars of my mountain bike when I was 9 and scraped my face up a lot.  I haven't been mountain biking since then.

I don't mind the trail running part, though.  I did a trail race last year and I'll do another one this year.

Hope the new meds help!!

I always crave lots of carbs and sugar when I'm depressed, too.  Not sure what causes it.

I can see why you would hesitate to try an Xterra race.

I started my 7 week tri training program today, and it looks like a fun group.  Most of the people have done it before; I'm one of the few newbies.  There's a strength day, spinning day, swim/run day.  Looking forward to all the classes and getting to know some local triathletes!

Sounds really neat Kim.  I wish my Y had something like this.  That will realy help with the motivation as well.  Good luck with it.

Looking forward to getting back in the pool tomorrow.  I am saying this now to help guilt me back into the pool.  I always have trouble starting something back up the fiirst time.  Then once I get the first workout done I am hooked again.

I so desperately didn't want to go to the gym tonight...but didn't want to ruin my Peach Streak!  So I did some weights with my little dumb bells; and if I hit the hay soon, maybe a pool workout in the morning...

Happy New Years everyone!  I'm finally back from the land of the crud!  I've been under the weather with a pretty nasty cold and have been unable to work out for over a week    I did a weight day yesterday and a run today and it felt great to be back at it.

January goals:
1)  Work out at least 5x a week.
2)  Build my up my training base to really push hard in January
3)  Build the courage to join the Masters Swim Team in the area

Congrats to everyone in the group for making it through the holidays relatively unscathed!  Keep up the good work.

Just realized that I never posted my goals for the month!

Here they are:

*run - 50 miles
*log food - 15 days

I jokingly added 4 naps to my challenge team's goal sheet.  Somehow, I don't think I'll have a problem with that one!

Me too!  I've been working on getting to work earlier (so I can leave earlier) and I'm exhausted today!
