I don't want to burst your bubble...  And this may just be ME.  But if I really like a girl, I would show some excitment/enthusiasm about getting together.  Even if I can't get together, I make SURE they know they know I still want to later.

I don't play the indifferent game.  But maybe some/most guys do?  I guess it's that "I don't want to seem too interested/hard to get ploy?"

I don't play it either and I'm certainly not a "3 day rule" guy.  If a girl needs a "play the game" guy then she's not the girl for me.

Ha!  That's actually now pushed off to next Friday and it's martini lunch followed by pool side drinks followed by getting my kicked in games (and maybe other things).

Sorry to hear the news of your family.  That's always tough.  I have had this happen to several people in my life.  Fortunately, no one in the immediate family.

I think your daughter will be fine.  Just talk her through it.  Kids are resiliant, and unless they were REALLY close, I think they she will understand with your talk and move on.
