Good morning Ghoulies!

It is supposed to be in the 70's here the next 4 days! WOOHOO!!!

My daughter called this morning and asked if she could wear shorts to school. I said no. Technically it is still Winter. We are having May weather, though. It could hit 80 by the middle of next week.

Good morning Ghoulies.  We are having the same strange weather pattern down here.  Although with the 70's temps today we do have rain.  I just hope we don't get a downpour that washes away all the grass seed I planted on Sunday.  Rain yes, downpour no.

I have figured out that the bootcamp conditioning that I do on Monday nights is not good for my hip.  I visited the chiropractor yesterday about my siatic nerve issue and he was not happy.  He did make it feel better, but then during and after bootcamp it was killing me.  So, no more of that class for a while for me.

Afternoon Ghoulies

We have the same weather here. All of my doors and windows are open and the birds are singing their little heads off.

I am sorry that the boot camp is hurting you, but at least you figured out the cause of the pain.

My cousin's husband had a massive stroke and will not recover. He is only young 50s. There is too much sadness going on. My heart breaks for her.

Kendra, I'm so sorry that your hip is bugging you. You're doing great by finding the cause and changing what you're doing, even if it isn't what you hoped would have to happen.

Robin - I'm sorry. Sending ju-ju

Amy - I have my work laptop now, so I have a lot of learning to do in a hurry. The guys on my team (from St. Louis, and NJ, have been very helpful)

Very nice! This is the complete opposite environment than I used to work in.

Branch Managers meeting was yesterday morning.  Some of them got very vocal about staff moral, no raises or COLA in 4 years.  Reduction in staff (which we all understand due to the cuts in budgets) which are leading us to staff having to work every other weekend, which really is impacting the staff moral, including the managers.  All the branches feel that the libraries should close on Sundays.  HQ does not think we should.  They feel that this is a high volumn day.  Of course it is, when the statistics were for only 4 hours a day vs 10 hours days.  People rush to come in during those four hours, but if we were open more hours, they would see a drop in the numbers.  HQ does not seem to get the moral issue, although they are concerned about losing the cream of the crop which is some of what is happening.  We have lost 4 staff in supervisory position in the last two months alone.  And no replacements even being considered at this time.

The lunch after the meeting there was a lot of gripping going on.  Some which I agree with, some which I just feel like saying, HTFU!!!

And yes, I understand why there have been no raises or COLA over the past four years, but at the same time, our benefit expenses keep going up.  I believe that my contribution to insurance has doubled in the last four years and that does not take into account that the co-pay has increased too.

I am very thankful to have a job and a job that I enjoy.  For the most part it really is an awesome job.  I work with some great people.  I can interact with the public, or I can hibernate in my office.  I've got flexibility to point, unlike my staff who have very little flexibility.

Good Morning Ghoulies!

It has been a cold, WINDY, wet week!  I have down a little working out but not much.  Very busy at work this week, also.

Howdy Ghoulies. I took the rest of the week off just to be on call and to get some stuff done. Got a short run in and some yard work. I am not ready for 80 degree weather yet!
