Oh come on. The '80s NEVER went out. And never will. NEVER.

I bought fluro orange and fluro pink compression calf sleeves in New Zealand - they are as they say over there fentestuc!

Asalzwed - 2012-10-26 3:33 AM Do you have anything Halloween-like in Bali?

Of course! We haz enough Westie-types that there's Halloween here, plus it's getting commercialized all over the world anyway. My sister and I have always had a THING for Halloween ... it's one of our favourite holidays (okay, any holiday is our favourite, but Halloween especially).

However, I shall be in Jakarta, allowing myself to get into shenanigans with family members a.k.a. my nephews. I'm going back for some bureaucratic BS, for my dad's birthday, and to see if he has disowned me yet after I fled without a word last time.

Soooo, no costume?????

Well OF COURSE there's going to be a costume! And candy!

I just don't know what the costume will be. I'm going to let my neffoos dress me up. RUT ROH

How old are they? That can make or break this.

I think Ali (the oldest) may still be here in Bali, but Halim is 23 and Malik is 20.

Yes, I know my bro and SIL gave them all the same names. We kinda just call them Huey, Louie, and Dewey

I am horrifically double jealous. Of you, and of Kirsten. AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

In New York, in Sep. 2009, two Manatee mentors were in the same place, same time. New York nearly didn't survive. Des's apartment, which we were in, almost didn't.

Practice was awesome last night. My recovery assignment was to pace one of my teammates @ race pace for her upcoming HM.

It was 4 miles (on the track) at 7:30 pace

It was dark as we don't have lights at our track (or at least we don't pay to turn them on) and there is just something so surreal and umm sorta sexy about running around the track in the dark.

The rest of the team were doing two mile repeats with 4 minutes rest time in between.

I dunno, there is just something really awesome about hearing runners footsteps then whiiiiizzzzz they go by you. I love it.

I think there is something wrong with me.

I agree. Not that there is something wrong with you, but that the sounds of running are wonderful. One reason I stopped listening to my IPod on runs was because I loved the sound of my feet hitting the dirt/sand. Well, and there's the safety issue, too, but mostly it's because I love listening to myself run. lol

I'm just the opposite.  The sound of my footfall makes me feel heavy and clumsy, like a wounded elephant or something Embarassed

Ha! I just bought two new pairs of running shoes this afternoon and asked the clerk about compression socks. She said very disdainfully, "No. We do not carry compression socks." (I was thinking about my calf issue.)

AND I'm doing an obstacle race in Nov. You would be proud Smile

Sweet!!! Which one are you doing? There are so many out there now!

It's called the pineapple classic 5K. It's a local event, not a chain. You have to do the entire obstacle course with a pineapple in your arms.

Best part is there is an authentic Luau in a barn afterwards AND beer. Lots and lots of beer.

If you drop the pineapple, do you have to start over?

Yes, I am looking forward to some great food and beer and Manatee hilarity.  However, I did notice that she decided not to run with me, which was the original, tentative plan.  Guess I am too slow after all..... Tongue out
