phone with the surgeon - ice today and Ibuprofen 2x a day for 1 week then  1x a day for another week if not ok go see him. As there is no swelling he suspects it is scar tissue adhesions breaking loose and not uncommon and it's only 4 months since the procedure - if still bugging me in 2 weeks go see him or of course if it gets worse. - so here I go:

I'm glad to hear that it was better after a day, and as a result, I wuz gonna give ya the "HTFU" speech in jest, but your surgeon beat me to it

Let's keep it that way, dood!

My only update is that I'm a big cry-baby about my shoulders. I had my first (of 3) PT appointments. Y'know, I really thought it would be more pleasant! I do not know why I thought that. My pain is more likely due to poor posture at the computer than my training. I guess that's good?

I have to say I *felt* like a big weenie even before it started. Looking at all the other patients in the PT room, most of them had what looked to be small automobiles wrapped around their arms and legs. I very meekly hung up my coat and took a chair. And then whined like a siren when the PT rotated my shoulder.

Welcome to my world!

I woke up this morning at 5am (4am my  time) just to be able to go running!  It was 52 degrees and it was awesome!!!!  If I didn't have to get ready for an interview I would have kept going it felt so good.  I did really well but I don't think they'll be able to meet what I'm looking for salary wise.  My oldest boy will be EXTREMELY dissapointed!

Alrighty, nobody commented on the idea of 100% class participation Mondays.  I'm pushing forward with the idea anyway!!!

I had a good ride on Saturday and was lazier than I should have been Sunday.  Did some core work for the first time in a while and today I can feel it a bit.  Gotta do more of that!

The following tree house residence are tardy for check in!

Zilla / TJ
AndriaLL / Andria

FentressJET / Eric
Regimom / Linda

Just saying hello for the day so I don't make Peter's "List"

Had a great Spin class last night and then ran a faster mile to simulate a brick and loosen the legs from Sunday's race. Have to say they don't feel very loose today though. Spent a good amount of time stretching. Planned on upper body but had low blood sugar after all the cardio so decided to just do the stretching.

Nice work on the brickage!

It's snowing here in Milwaukee again.  Fluffy stuff, unlike last week's 14" of heavy stuff.  I'm just happy it has warmed up to the upper 20's.  That zero degree stuff got real old real fast.  Going to run outside Thursday night with Force again, looking forward to that, it was nice to have a running partner.

You're more than welcome to start with us, but unless you're interested in a slow jog, I, for one, will not be the best of run partners for U....U just 2 damn fast.

and BTW, quit lurking in this thread and go back home....

What I learned in my mentor group today:

(Thanks to Wikipedia!!!

Gelignite, also known as blasting gelatin, is an explosive material consisting of collodion-cotton (a type of nitrocellulose or gun cotton) dissolved in nitroglycerine and mixed with wood pulp and sodium nitrate or potassium nitrate. Its composition makes it easily moldable and safe to handle without protection, as long as it is not near anything capable of detonating it. One of the cheapest explosives, it burns slowly and cannot explode without a detonator, so it can be stored safely. It was invented in 1875 by Alfred Nobel, who had earlier invented dynamite. Unlike dynamite, gelignite does not suffer from the dangerous problem of sweating, the leaking of unstable nitroglycerine from the solid matrix.

Gelignite was used by the Irish Republican Army in Ireland's fight for freedom during the Irish War of Independence. Years later it was also used by the Provisional IRA during the early years of their revolutionary campaign against British forces and Loyalist Paramilitaries in Northern Ireland, but was later replaced by Semtex, a much more powerful plastic explosive, supplied by the Libyan government. Unionist paramilitary forces also made use of gelignite, most notably in a series of bombings of water and electrical utility substations occurring throughout Belfast in April of 1969.
