Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 5 mile easy run. CEP compression from my perspective is better than the 2XU. Holds up better over the long haul. I used to run in them when I had cramps/tightness in the calf. With greater run volume the tightness went away. Andy S 7/B 11/R 8 Rest 2 Total 26 33:34:13 Edited by JoePetto 2012-10-19 6:44 AM |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Scott and Mitch- We have a big game tomorrow, so what is the consequence of losing. I will admit that I am probably setting myself up for failure (I've seen both teams play and well, State's receivers can't catch). If it is physical, Scott can have recovery time after his Mari this weekend. I have a couple of ideas such as 5 minutes on the trainer with no entertainment for every point the other team wins by, or a Nice GO SPARTANS! or go blue for your tag line for the week. Or if you have another idea, I'm game.
BTW GO TIGERS! |

For a 4:15 marathon goal, training paces Recovery. 12:22 Easy aerobic: 10:52-11:38 Moderate aerobic: 10:29 Marathon: 9:44 1/2 marathon threshold:9:20 10k threshold: 8:55 5k vo2: 8:33 Again, easy for you is 10:52 or slower unless MAF is faster. chris2533 - 2012-10-18 2:57 PM For me, MAF is about 1:15 slower than MP. If you have to walk to MAF, that's not a great sign. But easy runs means easy. So I would slow down the easy runs to at least get close to MAF. Jackie - Not apples to apples (since mine is a HM plan) - but it suugests that for a HM goal pace 7:41 my easy runs should be between 9:02 and 9:41. Chris - does your full mary plan have the same table that my HM plan has that breaks down easy pace, etc. for each Marathon goal pace? Thanks, but where did you get those numbers? Luke Humphrey's $15 20 week 40/60 marathon plan from Hansoncoachingservices.com Bottom line: if your easy runs are faster than MAF and faster than these paces, you are running them too fast. |

BTW GO TIGERS! First off...a second on the GO TIGERS!!! I hadn't given any thought to this weekends game and the consequences here on BT. Maybe Joe wants to join in. I'm game for the sig line change. I'm also game for the a physical consequence. Maybe an extra zone 4 interval(s) on the bike (time of interval or total intervals determined by margin of victory?). GO BLUE!!! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 2,000 swim (1,400-300-200-100). Was able to hold pace around 2:00/100. Happy with my swimming so far. Mentally, knowing that I can swim 1,400 without wetsuit makes the 1,000 wetsuit legal race swim no so daunting. Andy S 7/B 11/R 8 Rest 2 Total 26 33:34:13 |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Can't update my totals on the phone, but I was able to resist the waterpark this morning and spend 55 minutes on a bike then 30 on the treadmill. It's funny, while yesterday was a rest day, I probably climbed 25-30 flights of stairs with the kids up to the top of water slides. Hopefully I'll be able to get to the local aquatic center tomorrow for a swim, then half marathon on Sunday. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hola, Today a 5 mile morning run in the beautiful Shanghai Bund (Riverfront) and the Yu Yuan temple. Considering I was in the ground in China for 5 days it was actually pretty decent that I was able to manage to get in 4 runs as close to my plan as possible. I'm now headed to the airport to head back to Guatemala. Have a great weekend everyone! Andy S 7/B 12/R 9 Rest 2 Total 28 34:59:13 Markz S 4/B 7/R 7 Rest 3 Total 18 18:24:00

I'll play. Go Spartans. Losers have to change their avatar for 1 one week to the other team's colors? I am in 1 week with other teams colors for the avatar. Mitch- I will take your interval challenge also, 1 minutes intervals at 4 equal to the margin of victory. This could hurt. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Joe, thanks for the reference. That's not what I did, but I will do that next week. Chris, I'll bite. How did you get that China run in there from last year? Was that when your Garmin acted up? |

How did you get that China run in there from last year? Was that when your Garmin acted up? Jackie, last June I was in Shanghai and, like I do all my runs, I uploaded my runs to connect.garmin.com. I just copied and pasted the url for that run to the post. The Garmin cloud saves all your runs and this one wasn't hard to find. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Rode with the group, but took off solo on the front and toyed with some that were trying to catch me (I would let them come close and then take off). Only when you're fit and tapered... Hahaha. After that I ran for thirty minutes. Pretty much the only brick I have done in a long time. Don't really believe in them. Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Inadvertent rest day today. I was hoping to swim this morning and no biking or running before tomorrow's race. Drove to the local aquatic center and they had lost power so no lap swimming today. So frustrating, it's completely out of my control and I get anxious and near angry when I miss workouts like that! Guess I'd better just relax and enjoy a vacation. |

Trying to nail down my target pace for the Oly...so far have 18 mph in the bike and 10:15/mi on the run. I will be happy if I can pull that off. Also, feels good to add 2 points in one day.
