A former hockey player told me that Dineen took first place in his race tonight!  We have a bike stud in our midst!

Kind of excited watching the Badger vs. Husker game.  We were supposed to get killed and are up 10 points at the half.  Fingers crossed it lasts. I have a lot riding on this one.

Oh Jayne, we want pictures. NOW!

That's awesome, Dino! Congratulations!

Just back from a trip up North for my daughter's sailing state championships. I did a few short rides along the coastal road, great scenery!

I've been reading "The Secret Race" by Tyler Hamilton and Dan Coyle - if you've any interest in the TdF or road cycling you've got to read this... Tyler basically describes how his cycling career progressed during the Lance years and it's a totally no holds barred account of the doping culture in cycling. He names names, describes how the system worked in minute detail and how EPO and transfusions allowed riders to make superhuman efforts up those huge French climbs. I haven't put it down for the last 4 days!

Thanks for the shout out guys......   I have to admit that I am pretty excited about the way the season is coming together after months of planning, lots of miles, and some hard race training.  3 races into my Series and 3 podiums, including FINALLY, a WIN this weekend.  The win should give me a 10+ point lead and a little cushion going into the next three weekends of racing which have us rolling both Sat & Sun.  It will be interesting to see how the recovery goes after going "Cyclocross" deep on Saturday and then having to hit it hard again the next morning.  Lots of Compression wear and lots of water.  Unfortunately, I don't think the Bride is just going to let me sit on the couch with my feet up for the next three Saturday afternoons with the Kitchen remodel project still in process.

No RR for me for CX races, nothing really to them compared a triathlon, but I did put some detail in my training logs if you have any interest.  New Max HR on Sat PM at 192 bpm.  And yes, it felt like 192 bpm during the final sprint!

How are Ironman Florida folks?  Tick.... Tock, Tick..... Tock.  Are you Ready?

Have you read David Millar's "Racing through the Dark"?  Same topic, but a completely different approach to the story.  Kind of interesting to compare the 2 views.  I suggest reading that one next.

And, how did she do in the State Championships???

kt65 - 2012-09-29 4:02 PM Strange, ever since Suzy mentioned the whole BT/mac issue, my iPad has been crashing when I click on a thread!  arrrrgh.  i have been using safari, so maybe i will load chrome.  that way, i can read all of the RR's that everyone has been so timely about posting..... Innocent

I had that issue yesterday as well on my Ipad. Only on this site though.

Here I sit praying that I do not get selected for a jury.  No one in the room wants to be here.  I am trying to look very  unappealing.

Honestly, I thought Chrome was faster, but even if is slow when using BT.  Someone suggested Firefox, but how many browsers do I need to be running?

Congrats Dino. Crushing that bike. I can't get 192 beats running, never mind on the bike.

Jayne - Can you post that file as an attachment? John wants to download for his own use. Tongue out nice pic ladies!!

Beautiful pic, Jayne and Julia!

Awesome job at your race, Dino! How long have you been racing CX? A couple of teams practice at this park by my house on Monday and Tuesday nights. It's so much fun to watch. Probably even more fun to do!

I had a good weekend - I have been "coaching" my friend for her first 5k, which was last weekend. We ran it together and she ran the whole time and sprinted at the finish. It was really fun to see/remember how exciting it is it finish your first race.

I'm free!!!!  The Cliff's note version is I was seated for a criminal trial, cried and they let me go.  Ok, I didn't really cry but I did use a valid excuse and they did let me go! Four free years!

Absolutely!  It's a character flaw, I know, especially not knowing your situation or excuse; but the prosecutor in me just bristles at the notion of "getting out of jury duty."  Given the nature of most of my cases, it's something I deal with on an all-too-frequent basis.  But I'm working on it ...
