This made me giggle.  Thanks Todd

Good luck to all those racing this weekend!

Newtons1st - 2010-06-04 9:12 AM I am in my office now doing the "good weather" dance. It has to be done on top of my desk so I am getting funny looks.

bzgl40 - 2010-06-04 6:31 AM Good luck to all the racers this weekend.  To those doing the Kansas HIM remember to have fun as you suffer.  I put in an order of no wind that day so let me know if it is delivered.  Can't wait to see all the race reports.

Ok ladies you're going to have to tell me if this ever happened to you.
I'm at the pool and it is crazy crowded and the lap swimmers only have one lane.  I am sharing with two guys that are swimming but taking breaks with each length and a lovely older woman going back and forth from back stroke to doggie paddle.  Suffice to say it was a crowded lane.  I am swimming along just pass the old lady and WHA???  One of the dudes swims right into me but instead of bonking heads he is leading with his hand, I think I was about to breath on my left side and his hand goes down my swim suit!  Yep, I got felt up at the pool today!  He apologized all over himself and stayed out of my way from then on out.

Damn straight he did! Don't make me come over there!  I guess it's good that I wasn't another body in the lap lane today due to work.

I am almost through some of the mess.  It's been a long day / week.

Thanks for the inspires! Long 11 mile bike ride for me in the sprint relay Sunday.  It should be a blast.  We are the last wave so guess what? I get to pass a boat load of bikes and feel like a hero.  I will probably get busted for drafting if I do anything below 22MPH.  No saving it for the run for me!  See ya at the finish line! - I am the one drinking a Shiner.  Might even be one left for you by the time you get there!

OK you fast folks on the bike, what are your thoughts on the aero Helmit. When I got my race packet today at the LBS they had a 20% off coupon in it for accessories. So brings then down to like 120. got me thinking.

I got told it was a deal killer here in the house.  Which makes me want to buy one and only wear it when biking with Tina.  I think that would be awesome.   I have been told that you get way more bang for your buck on the helmet then the wheels.

Maybe the fast guys like Justin and Eric will chime in, but I used an aero helmet for my first HIM and I think there was a definite benefit. How much of difference? No way I can answer that but every one has to wear a helmet and they aren't much more expensive then the Giro Ionos, so it's not like buying race wheels.

The way I look at it, every bit helps, so buy it, and even you're not the fastest you'll da&* fast in the race pics!

As far as the aero helmet - I don't know which would benefit you more race wheels or aero helmet but I know for a fact that if the engine is stronger, you'll go faster Laughing

I like my aero helmet, time savings depends on tons of factors but a number seen a lot is 10s/10K.

Not sure I agree with all of this list but some good info... http://www.tri-talk.com/Top20.asp

I think the Justin v Justin showdown should be for which one is called Justine until the next race where they can win their name back.

Go ahead and get pointy - those of us who don't do pointy helmets (yet) love passing pointy helmets.  More motivation.

Not so much.  I actually kind of know the guy.  We've shared a lane before and talked tri's, he's done a couple.  We chatted before I started swimming, apparently he was one of the folks I was cheering/yelling at during the 5K last weekend.  He recognized me but I didin't recognize him in the sea of people.  We were doing our best to stay out of the older lady's way as well as the under water swimming dude.  Wonder if he mentioned the incident to his wife.  LOL
