Well, it just sucks that if I come in really early, I can't then leave early. If I came in at 6 am, I'd still have to stay here until 6 pm. Now that's a problem. My hours a officially 8:30 to 5:00 but ihave been coming in around 7 and leaving at 3:30 or so. Its a pisser you cannot flex your hours. Yeah, my hours are "technically" 9 to 6. But I ALWAYS come in early - and then cannot leave early. And for the first year I worked here, I didn't take lunch breaks - and still don't every day. So why do you go in early? |

No, it's sort of an "expectation" - the few times I've come in "on time" and people are like "Where were you" I say, "well, my hours are blah to blah - I'm not late" and they say "well, my hours are technically blah too, but it doesn't matter, we all work longer, etc, etc, etc". The Pres's admin used to TIME my old boss (not lawyer dude, but nice fun girl) when she'd leave for lunch to make sure that she didn't take longer than an hour. And when she'd leave ON TIME (her hours were 8 to 5, but she always stayed late), everyone would be like "where did Alison go"? |
