I must admit that I am sick.

Some sort of throat/ear/voice thing.  Not particularly fun, but not terrible.  Unfortunately it has my airways so messed up that I cannot do any sort of cardio without major issues-and definitely no swimming.

I did have a lovely day though.  I hiked in a snow blanketed mountain with Maneesh and Dave, which included the brief exploration of a deep dark crevice near the top of the mountain.  I gave a little confused tree frog a lecture about sitting in the snow in the middle of a trail that dogs frequent.  The silly bright green guy was just hanging out in a blanket of white.  I also escorted him down the mountain a little ways to where there was plenty of decomposing logs, ferns, salal, and moss.

After the hike, we visited a local Irish pub.  You can check my log for a few more details.

Here's to a more productive challenge day tomorrow for both of us

I should run a six-miler but we'll see what actually happens. I will run a bit, though.

December Pick-A-Challenge UPDATE!

I've looked at the spreadsheets, and removed people who had "0" percentages. Usually, I try to hunt these people down and taser them, ask if they're still participating.... But, unfortunately, my life has just been too busy. So rather than taser, email or PM them, I just went ahead and removed their totals.... If they show up, they can still enter their progress towards their goals, and we'll just add their totals back in again.

So here's what you've been waiting for, THE CURRENT TEAM STANDINGS

1st place: Random Taser me Elmo Cat Stalkers - 37.41%
2nd place: Holiday Knockers - 32.73%
3rd place: Hot Toddies - 31.92%

But December isn't over yet! It's only the 14th, and you still have more than two weeks to go! So keep it up!

I'm feel about 2x as yucky, but it generally does get worse before it gets better.

At the same time I feel surprisingly good.  It is amazing what a difference there is between being sick with a bad headache and being sick with only a mild headache.  No migraines for me.

Unfortunately there is not going to be any running, biking, or swimming in the next few days.

I feel bad for my new roommate-he gets to hear all my hacking (and all the other nasty sounds that can be attributed to upper respiratory congestion).

He has been very sweet though-he made me some tea and periodically he was checking in on me.

Sounds like a good roommate. Glad you are in a good living situation. And poor thing--you're the sick one.

I never got around to resending the note I deleted.  A quick summary...

You look absolutely radiant in the Santa pic.  You're emanating warmth and joy.

Stay happy.

Nice job on the swim.  I really need to get out and swim.  I have been slacking on everything but mostly swimming.

Happy Monday Morning teamies..

You all that are sick.  get better ASAP. This is NOT the time of year to be sick.

Yanti,  take your head out of there right now lady.. BAD BAD.. Heads do not go in there! Now wash up and take a nice clean breath of air..

I was supposed to swim today but slept in. Now I have to figure out how to get to the gym at lunch. It's 20 miles away so just getting there will take the time...
