Is there a chance to practice swim in the river on Friday or Saturday?  I can't find the answer on the Eagleman website.  Thanks!

At your own risk, yes.  Lots are usually in the river on Saturday, especially around say 12-2pm.

...another question for you Eagleman vetrans - - Is there any oppourtunity for those of us in the later swim waves to do a swim warm-up closer to our wave start? I'm in wave 10, and won't start 'til after 8:00... I'm hoping I can do a swim warm-up before the start, but if the only swim warm-up I can do is before the whole thing starts, there's not much point....

And yet... another question:  When do we get our Race Numbers?  Do we have to wait till we pick them up?   Also, are the racks numbered?

thanks.

Swim before your wave?  Nope.  Once the pros go off, no one is allowed in except the next wave and so on.

Race numbers will be at the registration on a print out that you find before going to the appropriate line.  Can't get it before hand usually.

Well It finally happened!: SO I was swimming along today at my neighborhood YMCA, placidly doing my cool down, when some idiot kid jumped straight into my lane doing a fantastic cannon ball. He comes down on top of me as I was doing a flip turn, making me smash against the bottom of the pool. Not only do I get a concussion but break my wrist in the process! I go to the ER and they bandage me up with 2 high strength pain killers, a cast for my wrist, and a prescription to not swim (I cannot get the cast wet) or doing anything intensive exercise wise for 1 week. The end of this tragic story is that I have scratch the race. At least I got Columbia this season. See you all hopefully next year. "We shall rebuild him: bigger, stronger, faster..."

The kid was like 8 or something and his mom was tanning or reading her People magazine or something. She paid for the bills and such but it is still ridiculous

Really sorry to hear that. I know you had a great race at Columbia and thought you were primed for a killer race at Eagleman. Heal up and crush this race next year.

That blows.

I tried to do something similar, I put a screwdriver through my hand working in the backyard today. Not too bad, but I'm already anticipating everytime it hurts this Sunday and remembering what a dumba** I am.

With my work stress and lack-o-training/sleep over the last two weeks (this one and last one) I'm going to be right there with you in the "keep moving & cross the line" pack!
