Got in a 5.25 mile run this morning.  Out the door at 5:00 AM.  Saw a couple of meteors...

Bike ride (hill repeats) and strength still on tap for today...

Darn! I forgot about the meteor shower last night.

Saw the first one about 10 minutes into the run.  All I could wish for was that the run would be over   It came true 50 minutes later!

Lovely bike ride today for a late lunch. I really enjoyed this one. Maybe I am getting back into the swing of things.

We have been in a drought so of course it rained all last night and was cloudy the last few days. No meteors for us.

I am knackered. I have done today's run yesterday so a nice slow swim tonight. Phew.

Always learn some new words when we get an international group going!

From the urban dictionary I found:

Knackered:

1. Exhausted
2. Sexually spent
3. Reprimanded
4. Broken / malfunctional

Unless it was a pizza night last night then I'm guessing #1?

Afternoon rant....

So I'm on the last lap of my swim set today and I suddenly run into a guy in my lane swimming the same direction (hit his feet).  No idea where he came from, but the pool has over 24 lanes of which 3 were currently in use. I stopped and said 'excuse me' to him.  Asked him politely about being in the lane and got a confused look back. I asked him if he would mind using any one of the other 20 open lanes or he could just stay since I was done after the current lap. He really didn't seem to have any idea what was going on or how lap swimming works. I've had kids cut across the lanes before but not just someone show up mid-lane.

My pool has three lanes, after work there is always someone hopping up and down from one end to the other and another lane has some one doing the back floatie-thing...  Not really moving...  Maddening...

Good evening team!  Finally made it to a pool on my vacation.  Got in 1700M today and a 20 minute run in 108 degree temp!  Never in my life have I seen so many 50 & 60 year old men in speedos.  Red & white checkered speedos, rainbow speedos, itty bitty black speedos ... Ya gotta love Palm Springs!  Having a great time on my vacation, but also looking forward to getting home and getting in some serious training the rest of the month.

Got in my bike and strength workouts tonight...  Squats and leg presses are considerably harder after riding for an hour on a hilly (for around here) course...
