I have to run in the mornings...  for some reason I don't seem to be able to kick myself out of the house in the evenings to go run...

I was wondering when you'd show up.

Actually, it was more the "trigger happy" theme. Picture me doing that, but with tasers and cattle prods.

Hi, Team! Dee was just kind enough to let me into the group. Forgive me for not reading over all of the previous 19 pages -- you guys are chatty! But I'll be sure to skim so I have at least a vague idea of who everyone is.

I'm Erin and I'm training for my second marathon in December. I've set a pretty lofty goal for the month and the main way I'll reach it is by nailing all of my long runs. Um, long runs are hard. So yeah, this should be fun.

(Hi, Yanti! It's great to see you again!)

Yeah, I like to wander in and out randomly and in a mysterious manner.  But I can't compete with the post padding people, particularly the proficient ones.  I can be prone to alliteration though.

In other news, HUZZAH for Yanti on the team.

WOW!! This certainly is a busy group! There are so many great posts I'd like to reply to but I don't have time, so just a couple general thoughts

Good luck and have fun to everybody racing this weekend!

I like to run early in the AM, and I don't know how anybody runs late in the day. I have just about zero motivation in the evening. An early morning run is waaaaaaay more energizing than coffee.

Running in the rain is great!!! I was disappointed this morning when I got up and it wasn't raining as was forecast

I also like running in the dark, but especially when I start in the dark, and then get to see the sunrise.

Rlejeune mentioned having to deal with traffic and construction. This reminded me that one of the many ways that I am a very lucky man is that I have great roads for both running and riding right outside my front door.

To artemis: best wishes for an easy surgery and quick recovery. Also, please don't tase me, I promise to be good!

It's a good weekend for me. Great 9 mile run this morning, a fun and productive day at work today, 30 or so mile ride tomorrow with some good hills, and then the Jets-Saints game. Go Jets!!!!

Back from my 5K, E.V.I.L Running Reapers, and I brought home some hardware -- Grand Masters!  I'm happy, but it's not quite as exciting as it sounds.  It was a local race, and there just aren't that many of us "senior" ladies out there running competitively any more.  I beat my last 5K time by over a minute, but even that is squishy because that last 5K was HOT (can you say August in Florida?).  Anyway, I'm pleased.

YAY!!! That is so cool. And don't sell yourself short -- one minute faster *and* Grand Masters?? That's awesome no matter what the circumstances.

My weekend: six miles this evening then a half marathon tomorrow. I'm racing the half but it's not an "A" race -- I'm just trying to figure out where my fitness is.
