Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Wind Chill Warriors (Team 3) - January Challenge Hey guys, Here are the procedures for dropping "missing" people or changing goals due to illness, injury, etc. First off, please don't remove anyone from the spreadsheet. That's for the Challenge Organizer (me, this month) to do. The reason is --> It's up to the Challenge Organizer to determine what rules will be followed, and apply them uniformly across all the teams. That way, different teams aren't doing different things, etc. That said, here's the procedure for my challenges. (Again, different organizers have different procedures, so this is just for the challenges that I put together....) When people seem to have disappeared: 1) The Team Captain lets me (the Challenge Organizer) know. 2) The Team Captain sends a PM to the missing person. (But only the team captain does this. That way, the person doesn't feel like he/she is being stalked.) 3) If the person doesn't reply within a few days, the Team Captain lets me know. 4) I'll check the person's logs and determine their last login date. Based upon that, I'll set a date for dropping the person. If the person hasn't checked in by that date, I'll remove the person from the spreadsheet. If it's the Team Captain who has disappeared, feel free to select a new captain! When people have been sick or injured (or just overwhelmed with life), but do NOT want to drop out of the challenge, I'll let them revise their goal. There are a few different ways to do this, but for sickness/injury, here's one way: (Original goal) x (Days that you COULD work out) / (Days in the month) = Revised goal For example: January has 31 days. Say your goal was 50 miles, but you missed 6 days due to illness/injury. 50 miles x (25 days that you COULD work out) / (31 days in Jan.) = 40 miles revised goal If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I think it is against the rules for other teams to curse us! Take care of yourselves all! Eh, not so much. Lots of people on the other teams are getting sick or hurt, too. Maybe we're all cursing each other? LOL Actually, I think it's just winter. We need for Spring to arrive soon! |

Planned on an hour, but could only make it 30 minutes. My seat is out of practice with sitting on my seat Spinning to Biggest Loser is somewhat motivating though. Hope everyone has a wonderful day! The only way I can watch biggest looser is if I am on my bike! |

Pro 4541 A farming town in MN | Subject: RE: Wind Chill Warriors (Team 3) - January Challenge Emmanem - 2010-01-19 7:06 PM Well yesterday was supposed to be my swim and run day, unfortunately my boyfriend, his roommate and I got in a car accident. Everyone's ok thankfully, I was too sore to do anything yesterday but I got a short bike session in today just to ease back into things. Kind of feel like I'm getting sick though which I really hope won't happen. So as of right now I'm behind on all of my goals except biking but I think I can definitely pick the pace back up once my neck starts feeling less sore and stiff. Hope everyone is having a good week so far! GO WARRIORS!! Glad to hear everyone is o.k. Make sure you have the doc check you out...and take time getting back to it. Not worth it to aggravate anything. Goals can definitely be adjusted. Take care! |

Tomorrow is swimming so that should be good. DH has come down with a cold, so now I just need to avoid catching that! Take care Wind Chill Warriors! |

Did a walk/strength yesterday and already got my bike in for today. Now just off to do core... This will put me over 2/3rds of the way to my goal. Right on schedule... (Yes I will use the last day to finish)... Who is with me for over 2/3rds. Remember to post your totals in the spreadsheet... If we don't we might not keep the top spot. Let's go team.. Stacie |

Expert 1580 Ankeny, Iowa | Subject: RE: Wind Chill Warriors (Team 3) - January Challenge Otter - I will let D001 know so you can reduce your goals. Team - I had Jenni4 removed from the spreadsheet. Since she wasn't posting I mentioned it to D001 and found out that she got hurt skiing this past weekend and will be on crutchs for 3 weeks. So she has been removed from the Team roster. Please let me know if anyone else needs me to talk to D001. Thanks, Stacie |

Since you have specific workouts planned ---> You can revise your goal by leaving out those missed workouts. For example, if you'd planned 10 runs of 5 miles each, but missed one session: (9 sessions that you could do) x (5 miles per session) = 45 miles revised goal P.S. "Dee's math?" Does it go in the same category as calculus? LOL |

I spent 4 hours tonight in the emergency room due to a 5 mm kidney stone deciding it wants to get out. Until it passes I am suspending workouts.... Will let you know when I am back in the game, but I will not be able to make all my goals. I do not want to quit on the team, I just need to adjust my goals for days missed. Original planned workouts for the month was 13 in each catagory. Goals were 9 run and bike and 7 swim. So I will need to adjust bike and run 1 for 1 for each workout I miss, and swim 1 for every 2 I miss. So if I do not get back I would be 8 of 9 in bike, 9 of 9 in run and 3 of 5 in swim. So sorry team I am not at 100% of goals. Dee, do I adjust now, or wait and see how long this thing takes to pass, because I do not want to artificially raise or lower our team score. |
