Luv the new avatar Donkey Kim.  And just so everyone knows I am only calling her Donkey Kim because our team one time had 2 Kims and so I call one NJKim and one Donkey Kim.  It is not a reference to anything bad at all - just recognizing her donkeyness!

x2!! Love it!! I'm feeling very "green" already"...

MDHillSlug - 2010-03-04 9:56 PM OK, I worked up a team roster. I had a hard time figuring out what background picture should go with East, beast, wind, March so let me know what you think. If it's not showing up here as a picture you can see it on my log page.
I REALLY like the picture... BUT -- did you notice the name of the OTHER team? Here's their team table: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp... That said, I'm going to put it on my blog now.

The West team isn't very original, are they?

Oh yeah - you guys knocked off some 90s pop band for your title - that is original right? Wink

Who are the Beastie Boys?  Some 'classic' hardcore punk band in the 80s?  I believe there are several people on this team that were BORN in the 80s and their parents probably didn't approve of this band as part of their nighttime music ritual...

Lol... I was in jr high in the 80's (1987-1989) and we had a co-ed swim team. Yes, it was a great idea to put a bunch of 7th and 8th graders together in bathing suits... But I remember we used to listen to the Beastie Boys in the bus on the way to swim meets. And my I'm SURE my parents would NOT have approved if I ever tried to listen to it at home.

Beastie Boys were late 80's... wasn't their re-make of Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" their first big hit?  I was never a fan.

Without Google, all I can think of right now are Girls, Brass Monkey and Fight for your Right (to Party!!!!!). Oh, the good old days...

Bill (Sorg - not the lurker), you should go comment on the post-count thread in tri talk...they might take away your extreme veteran status...

Lurker just sounds so shallow

A lurker hangs out, silently, watching. That's definitely not you. How about muck-raker, or maybe "the straw that stirs the drink"!

ebshot - 2010-03-04 3:23 PM Oh my heck.  I just got home from Cole's doctor appt.  It was at 10:10 this morning.  It's almost 3:30.  Yeah, it went well.  He has bronchial pneumonia.  No wonder he wasn't getting any better.  So, no school today or tomorrow.  That means no run today or tomorrow for me.   Now that he is on a super dose of antibiotics and many inhalers, maybe he can get better.
Poor kid. Hope he's feeling better soon! (I'm telling you, that pediatrician is going to build a new medical office and name it after your kids.)

No kidding!  I've seen her at least once a week for 5 weeks.  Next week will be 6 weeks in a row.  And last week, I saw her three times (in one day no less) and next week we have a double appt.

Shouldn't the doctors give some kind of volume discount?
"5 visits in one month and the next month is free!"

lol...my mom used to joke about that with my pediatrician.  She usually ended up taking my brother and I to appointments together because we'd always be sick with the same thing...strep, sinus infections, etc.

Heading out on the bike to keep my end of the challenge up to defeat you snobbish east coasters! lol

Bill, I'm really confused.  What team are you on?

I am on the TWISTERS (west) but I luv posting on the bEASTies because I know so many of you.

I want you all to do 99% but we are doing 100%.  Sort of a mean type of encouraging - lol!
Wait, did you guys decide on a name change? If so, let me know and I'll change your thread name.

It is T.W.I.S.T.E.R.

Thanks Dee!

Nice team name... it looks like an acronym... does it stand for
Tired
Weak
Idle
Slow
Tired still
Energy's low
Dawdling

I'm so happy I didn't have coffee in my mouth when I read that.

Was it the 80s?  I thought the 90s but maybe late 80s.  I know I didn't know of them during my school years (grad in 84)

Early to late 80's.  Although I wouldn't know.  I graduated in '82...

Weather's supposed to be in the 40's here this weekend, and I can't wait for the warmth!!  And I have fun plans up the wazoo too Smile  Going out for a friend's birthday tonight.  Up early tomorrow in the nice weather for a 16-mile run followed by brunch w/my training group.  Going to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D IMAX on Saturday.  Sunday's a recovery run w/my tri club followed by more brunching.  Might to go to the Sears Tower skydeck for a friend's birthday in the afternoon (I refuse to call it the Willis tower!!!)  Then poker Sunday night.  Whew!

I'll be riding tomorrow with some others from my tri club. I have some concerns about keeping up since this will be the longest and hilliest ride of the season and my base is poor and hills aren't my strongest thing (with a name like "HillSlug" is that any surprise?) Sunday will be a rest day.
