OK, Ladies... time to step it up! Myself included... I need to get to the pool today... Usually I try to go Tues nights since Hubby plays basketball on Mon and Wed, but today we have to go vote for the school budget. And they have a strawberry festival with bounce houses, etc. The kids are dying to go. Maybe I'll bring my swim bag to wor and sneak out this afternoon for an hour... Mmmmm, strawberries are awesome...especially with just a smidge of sugar My kiddo loves loves loves the bounce houses. I had one deflate on my when I was about 3 and a fireman came to my rescue...so I'm deathly affraid of them now (bounce houses that is). |

I managed to get in a run on both days despite being on call. Looking pretty good for meeting my goals. A friend just emailed that she finished the Tour d'Afrique. Puts my training in perspective. It is a 4 month ride often on unpaved roads from Cairo to Capetown. 7375 miles! Anyone interested can check out her blog here. **************Major Mileage TopPage**************** Dang - that is a bunch of miles!!! I wish I had the time to do that. She took an unpaid leave from work and saved money for the last year in order to do the trip. No kids or spouse either so she could leave without any guilt. Her first "long" ride was Portland to Portland (Oregon to Maine). Had never actually ridden 100 miles in a day when she started out. It was a steep and painful learning curve! |

Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: Women's May Challenge Thread Gotta run. I am helping a local scout troop with their personal fitness merit badge. We are gonna play Jeopardy. Questions will be about Healthy Habits, Cancer Facts, Health, Nutrition and Exercise. I hope it goes okay. I'm afraid some of the questions might be too hard for middle schoolers. |

Expert 1163 | Subject: RE: Women's May Challenge Thread Hi Team! I keep falling behind on the thread... Silly work getting in the way of my BT time!! Luckily, I haven't been falling too far behind on my workouts! I'm right where I should be for my bike, run, and yoga/strength goals... I'm actually pretty sure I will get at least 100% on all of those by the end of the month. Which means I need to start heading to the pool more often! Blech! Why oh why do I keep procrastinating swimming?? |

By the time we get to swimming, we're out of stuff to think about. Yoga on the other hand...I have to really concentrate during my yoga class. |

Champion 7931 Sequim, Washington | Subject: RE: Women's May Challenge Thread Hey folks. I've been lurking the last couple of weeks...kind of keeping tabs, but feeling antisocial. My bike is really screwed up...the crank, cassette, chain...I don't know what all, but it doesn't like to stay in gear and when I look down at the crank/rings it looks like it is wobbling back and forth...it is warped or something. When I go up hills or do anything with a good bit of power behind it it slips out of gear and then makes yucky crunching... The bike is 16 years old and has the original crank, bottom bracket, chain rings and cassette so it is probably due for a bit of work. Unfortunately I was hoping to do more biking this month. My other bike has to be reworked too. I had been experimenting with the built...I converted it into a Franken-tribike. The reach is a bit too far for me though. |
