rnihill - 2010-11-04 8:54 AM I'm not a big pop, soda drinker and never really have been...  my problem is coffee!!  I hate the "taste" of water too and I end up drinking way too much coffee.  So, I'm addicted, jittery and it keeps me from drinking water that I need.  I KNOW I am chronically dehydrated but can't seem to force myself to do anything about it.  I might have to try the iced tea idea!  I like unsweetened tea...  I Just have to remember to bring something to work.

That sounds like me.  I end up drinking coffee most of the day because it's around the office.  I also really don't like the taste of water.  I started packing a big bottle (32 oz) of water with a little lemon juice in it.  I like that better than plain water

-12 runs
-5 lbs weight loss
-10 Coke free days
-1 completed scarf

Ohhhh..a knitting goal!  That's a good idea.  I just finished up a pair of socks but have three projects other projects that are in various stages of incompleteness.  Maybe I should aim to finish at least one knit item BEFORE I get distracted and start some other new project.

Maybe I'll add in a knitting goal too!  I have one sweater and a shawl to finish this month.

Speaking of distractions - my husband wants some knitted socks and I found a pattern book for kids toys that would be perfect for the cat, but it's crochet. Yesterday I started teaching myself crochet and attempted to start a toy... but need more work. I either have too much tension and it doesn't work or it's so loose that there are little holes... I found a pattern for Adam's socks finally (several hours later, needed to go online to get a pattern for size 13 mens), now I need to learn the 4 double ended needle technique. Oh, and finish that scarf for points.

My sister decided to try her hand at crochet when she was in high school so my mom taught her how to do it and left her to it. My sister started working on an afghan but didn't quite remember the stitch. A couple days later my mom checked to see how she was doing and saw that she wasn't doing the stitch right and wanted her to undo it and start over. My sister refused and finished it how she was doing it. She entered it in the state fair and won a blue ribbon for the project and for her creative stitch. She won that round with my mom but still hasn't done another crochet project since.

pdbman - 2010-11-04 8:36 PM So there is this empty cubicle in the office that is used when someone is fixing a PC or related equipment. It has a garbage can like most cubicles. I noticed today that it hasn't been emptied for a while so I move it out into the walkway to the cleaning guy will empty it. He just walked right passed it. Do I need to put it out where he will trip over it? ...

I dare ya!

I'll try to remember to move it out in the walkway when I leave. Its too bad I won't be able to stay late to see what he does. Maybe we can redirect some of the cameras in the office so we can see what happens.

Hi Crushers and fellow artsy fartsies!

I can crochet like a mean demon but have no idea how to knit. I dunno if knitting the same, but neat, evenly spaced, evenly pulled loops are just practice.

One of my goals is to write that stupid 50,000 word novel. I'm part of the giant worldwide crew and small BT crew that's doing the National Novel Writing Month.

TriAya - 2010-11-04 11:21 PM You people are high-larious. Yes, Melissa, pears in a can.

Half a worm. Heh.

So Phil are you on the spreadsheet yet? I just woke up.

I love pears in a can! I think this is the only real food that I prefer processed. I like the texture of the stringy membranes and the soft flesh. Fresh pears are too hard.

I prefer pears in my stomach. And I won't eat pears when they are hard. I let them sit around until they are fully ripe and sufficiently soft.

I love my wife. I think pears are pretty dang tasty but she doesn't. And yet she still buys a case of pears every year and we bottle them. I prefer the home done pears. We can control the sugar. I think they taste better with less sugar and light syrup compared to what is in the store. Plus none of that chemical that they coat the cans with that they have found causes cancer.

No, silly, I'm not "on" the spreadsheet since it's online, so can't stand or sit on it. *snicker* *dodges her right hand slap*  *dodges her left hand slap* *jumps out of the way of her kicking my ding-ding*

Yes, I found the account and pw and entered my info.  It's a start.

Kind of puts a new twist on that old song "...you can ring my bell, ring my bell."

I am sooo not looking forward to this weekend. I'm hoping to get my run and ride in tomorrow but I'm getting the feeling it may end up being one or the other. Other than that my weekend schedule was set out by other people (wife, etc) with no breaks except for sleeping time. Can we just skip to Monday and bypass the weekend?

Why am I *still* so tired after sleeping all day? (Worked all evening though)

Why am I *still* ravenously hungry after two five star meals and at home a glass of juice and gummy rings and now a bowl of cereal?

Oh and Judi I thought of you while eating gravy tonight. No piglets, though.

Cheapest roundtrip you can get from DC-LAX, then LAX-DPS-LAX is about $1000 that time of year. Might be able to do it for less if you book early, say March at the latest.
