Donald is finished......thanks for the laughs. Just out of curiosity what makes you say this? Everything I'm reading in conservative land is touting it as his best debate performance to date. lol Bush is definitely toast, Rubio is a pandering mess (i can't stand that guy). It's down to Cruz and Trump and the only place in the nation that's remotely interested in Cruz is Iowa. The way they've been making out and touching each other so far I'm fairly confident (just my gut) that it will be a Trump/Cruz ticket. *edit even the CNN commentators for the most part thought he did good. The guy can't answer a question. The nuclear triad answer was great comedy......but it's really just a good example of what I see with the guy. This is what I hear over and over.... Reporter or commentator (or anyone) - "Mr Trump, can you explain how you will prevent Muslim terrorists from entering our country?" Trump - "believe you me this is going to get done. I am tough on this stuff. They're not coming in here, believe it, watch and see". That's stupidity. I know it plays well with emotional people, but I'm not emotional. If you have an idea you better be able to tell me how you plan to get it done. I want answers and solutions, not sound bites that play to emotional people. I don't like many of the policies of the current administration, but I'm not voting for some guy who is just playing to a bunch of pissed off people.......that just leads to more stupid crap.
Hah, that was a non issue in the debate. Even the other candidates didn't try to seize upon it because I would guess all but maybe one or two of them knew what it was. lol That was just one example......he does it constantly. I know who his audience is, and I get it, but it doesn't mean you can run a country just because you can get a bunch of pissed off people behind you. I thought he was horrible last night......just not a serious candidate. No matter who the president is, I feel that they're equally incompetent and running the various departments. Trump isn't a lawyer so he's clueless or the Department of Justice, he's not a military general so he can't lead the defense department, etc. So, the important part is who they put on their cabinets to actually lead the various departments and then more importantly hold them accountable. There's no question that if somebody built a $4B hospital that should have cost $200M there will be a bloodbath of people getting fired in a Trump administration. With typical politicians they appoint their buddies and reward stupidity like that because it rewards their donors. Why do you think he'd care that much if it isn't his money? |

Obviously he could be lying through his teeth so at worse he's no different than any other politician, but at best he's telling the truth and will make better fiscal decisions. I think we can all agree that Bush/Clinton/Rubio/etc. will definitely keep things going the way they are with waste and donor paybacks. |

When you say over and over that thousands and thousands of Americans were cheering the mass murder of other Americans, when you know very well it isn't true, and you do it anyway for the purpose of inciting hatred and bigotry and fear because it appeals to stupid angry, frightened people, that's not "exaggerating", that's lying. You can sugar coat it all you want, Tony, but it is what it is. He's appealing to the basest instincts of the lowest common denominator. |

It was proven several times over that people were celebrating in New Jersey after 9/11, that is fact. There's no evidence to support that there were thousands and there's no evidence to support there wasn't, but I think it's safe to say there weren't thousands. Probably in the tens (if that). I will say that if you're trying to win people over to your side it will go a long way by not calling them stupid. If anything, you're the one who seems angry. I know i've said it before, but you should be elated that Trump is likely to get the nomination because Hillary is so unstoppable against him. |

I feel he's genuine when he says that he has Americas interests at heart. Obviously he could be lying through his teeth so at worse he's no different than any other politician, but at best he's telling the truth and will make better fiscal decisions. I think we can all agree that Bush/Clinton/Rubio/etc. will definitely keep things going the way they are with waste and donor paybacks. exaggerator, yes. Liar, I'm not sure I'd go that far. In comparison to Hillary who is a very well known and documented liar, Trump is Mother Theresa. lol It worked for Obama that's for sure. No No, the Democrats are all sophisticated enlightened educated people. It's just us Conservatives who are stupid and angry. But but but..... Obamaaaaaaaaaa! ![]() And,nope, not all Conservatives are stupid and angry (and afraid--you forgot afraid), but an awful lot of the ones that are seem to be falling in line behind your boy, Tony. The problem you get into when you play the "you guys are dumber than us guys" argument is that everybody has idiots on their side in vast quantities. I just watched a video last night of Yale students signing a petition to abolish the first amendment. These are Yale students, yet they look like complete idiots when they try to answer a simple question that any intelligent person should know. It's like when you walk down the street and ask 100 people if they know a movie star (with a name you made up) you'll get a significant percentage of people who will say, yeah I love him because they want you to think they are in the know. You could call 100 people in New orleans with Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton, or Dan Quayle as the person responsible for Katrina response and I'm sure you'll get significant percentages for each. Another way to say this... People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. ;-) |

You are-- you said, "No No, the Democrats are all sophisticated enlightened educated people. It's just us Conservatives who are stupid and angry." I never said anything about anyone's intelligence, but clearly it's struck a chord with you. I was presenting the NoLa poll not as evidence that conservatives are dumb, but as evidence that conservatives blame Obama for everything, even for stuff like Katrina that he wasn't in office for. And if you think that you could get almost a third of people in New Orleans to say that Dan Quayle was responsible for the Katrina response, you're kidding yourself. When I referred to the lowest common denominator, I was referring to the angry frightened racists who are going along with Trump's idea to ban Muslims, buying into his lies about the thousands of cheering Muslims on 9/11 and the kind of people like the ones who are banning Muslims from their places of business and "demonstrating" in front of houses of worship in TX in order to intimidate fellow Americans into not using their constitutional right to worship as they please. Are they stupid as well as racist and scared? Maybe, but rather than wonder about their intelligence, I'm just going to focus on what they're saying and doing. |
