Click on "portfolio" if you're not already there...then click on a picture of one of the models. Then mouse over it.

I find that site mildly disturbing.

It kind of pizzes me off. =) I was previously aware of air brushing etc. but it's just ... frustrating that this is what "we" see all the time. Not reality.

Agreed. And looking at many of the untouched photo's I saw absolutely nothing wrong with them. Frankly, I found them better than the touched up photo's. Especially the one (can't remember which one) where they took out the freckles. I like freckles. Fun to play with and find.

Indeed. Too many of them ended up looking like porcelain rather than actual people. It was also weird what they added or took out on some people: they took away the muscle definition in Julia Stiles' arm and gave her more of an a$$, and also gave Cameron Diaz more of a hip (to the extent that it actually looks bizarre). Matthew Macfadyen just looks like he's lost all of the character in his face.

Penelope Cruz looks good either way. I didn't get farther than that.

OK, I need to stay in this thread.....

I need to run..... I'm gonna scream otherwise.

Hmmm... the swelling on my left hip is down... I'm thinking of running...

Take it easy mate.  So soon after the accident.  Slow and steady wins the race.  Or in your case, just finishes the run.

I thought the muscle definition reduction was weird, too.  Boooo.

And if they don't have freckles, how can I play connect the dots?

What's really bizarre is that they take dozens of shots of EACH POSE, and wind up with several hundred or even thousand photos per shoot. THEN they select ONE for the final shot (or a few, dep/up the project) and THEN it gets retouched.

I imagine even most of we regular folks could get an astonishing, dummy-like photo out of that process.

That is disturbing.  I remember the first time I watched a movie in HD.  You could see the freckles on the guys shoulders and the lead girl had a tiny scar below her eye...no wonder all the stars were throwing fits about HD.  No more air brushing.

I was really disturbed by the way the took inches off of their waistlines.  (They even trimmed up Beyonce's muffin top.) We get so caught up in how perfect these women look and it's not even real.
