Well It all started last Saturday when  I took my son to Colorado Springs to Runners Roost to get new shoes for track. We stop by my favorite Bike shop (Criterium) and got new new bike shoes tri specific and they actually fit my old ones were a size to big. While I was there I started looking at transition bikes as I was looking I found the Quintana Roo Teqiulo. The guy I deal with on fitting was at the the other store in Monument about 15miles north so the Owner said I could take the bike there to see it was the right size. That really amazed me since I didn't have to put any kind of deposit down and they offered I did not ask.  I found out that the bike was the right size an he didn't even try to up sell me which I really like. So I when my called asking how things are going I told what I had done and she says you didn't buy it. I told her no I wanted to talk with you first about it she tells me that hasn't stopped you before.

Well I ended up ordering the Quintana Roo Seduza tonight which was a grade up with the carbon frame and forks for a about $400 more than the Teqiulo. Now  I have to wait for about a month to get since I will be on-call for the next 3 weekends.

the white background is boring.  when you get the bike, make sure you take a pic with stuff in the background so we can do a "full" review.

Congrats on the new bike.  looks fast!

Will do I just pulled this off of the internet

Check with GrapeJuice and see if he'll let you borrow Mirinda Carfrae for your photo shoot....maybe a few shoe boxes too.

has anyone ever taken up a whole page??? hmm... what else should I post..

Last one, promise.

It's been a crazy busy week, but some awesome milestones/news I wanted to share:

- I took Thursday off to take Emma to the zoo for the first time.  We enjoyed breakfest with orangutans. Emma loved it!! priceless day!

- SWIM BREAKTHROUGH!! After two weeks of swim masters & private lessons, I'm finally getting this bilateral breathing thing..  500 pull all bilateral breathing.  by far the longest distance to date with bilateral breathing.  I'm really feeling the difference with my balance and shoulder turn.  the training wheels are starting to come off.  Some drills that really helped me out: one arm drill w/ and w/o holding a kickboard with my right hand, shark fin drill, over exaggerated shoulder turn drill, & this video really helped better understand how to start the breathing earlier.

- I got promoted!!!!

- I'm officially moving back to NYC in May!! Only a few weeks left in SG and haven't started packing yet. Anyone want to help?!?

WOW, you're full of great news!!!!  Great to hear you're moving back to the States, but why not Mad Town?!?!?.  We'll have to get the East Coasters to join us for an MG event.  If Trevor can travel for Canada (isn't that by the north pole?) to TX, you should be able to swing something....George, Stan too.

as much as I'd love to go back to Wisco, Mad Town does support the kind of work I do.. and my company doesn't have an office there.  However, I will be in madtown the last week in April.. perhaps we should schedule a run???

Oh thanks for that clip I have been struggling with this. Every time I breath on my left side, I feel like I am sinking.. Ok I am actually sinking when I do it. I think it is because I am waiting until my stroke is done before I lift my head out that way and it is already too late to breath based on the video you posted.... Will have to try this on Tuesday.

BOOOOO this can only mean one thing.. I am going to see this in a day or two as it comes over the great lakes and into Ontario. I suspect I will still be shovelling my drive way in June this year from the way it feels.

Suzy feel the pain of the snow. We've had spring here for the last week, and it is supposed to snow again this weekend!!!

Great april fool's joke played on me today.

I was all dressed up to bike in to work this morning. I checked my BB and saw a message from one of my staff saying she was sick today. I thought, 'oh crap, but whatever I can cover her business off.' Then i saw another email from one other girl saying she was sick as well. There are only 3 people on my group + me.

I emailed the other girl, telling her the first two were going to be out sick today, and to expect a busy day.  And I decided to drive in becuase it would be quicker, and I had a bunch of crap to do.

Then the parking lot I parked in, messed up my charges and tried to essentially charge me double for the parking.

I was a wee bit pissed this morning. So i got showered and went to grab a coffee. As i was standing in line i thought of what day it was. But i really didnt think these two girls could/would do this. Didnt think they had it in them.

But i walked into work and down the hallway and sure enough they were both sitting here. And the other one send a note to me saying she was going to be late, blah, blah. So all 3 of them were in on it!!

Sorry to all of our friends where spring has not yet sprung.

Poor Kyla is stuck inside on the trainer for 4.5 hours.  ugh.

I walked Ripley last night after work and this morning in shorts and a tank!  Tongue out

But the joke is on me, i wanted to do my long run tomorrow before work, but it is going to rain with 50mph gusts...I find it hard to believe as it is currently 78F here in the city, but i may just wait until Sunday...

congrats on the new bike, Bryce, it sure looks purty

congrats on the promotion and the move back, Tuffli

have a great day everyone!

I am with you Suzy.  Spring is not springing here either.  No sticking snow but it was snowing earlier today.  We were just far enough west to miss the storm that came up the east coast.  High 40's for this weekend.  I guess I will take that and be happy.

March numbers...

March's totals:
Bike:10h 10m 51s  - 180.51 Mi
Run:9h 57m 35s  - 73.09 Mi
Swim:6h 57m 28s  - 23600 Yd

Not as impressive as you ironpeeps but my most solid month of the year.  Run would have been much higher but was having some shin pain so I shut down the run for about a week and a half.  It paid off as my shin is in good shape now and have had some good runs this week.

Happy Friday - have a great weekend!

I was swimmin at the local pool this afternoon and completed 2650 yds. in 1 hr. I did the plan my coach gave me and added about 650 into it. There was a guy in the next lane but I paid little attention as I had a lot to concentrate on during my set.

When I was done and about to leave he had finished his set and coming into the locker room said "man you make it look easy." Made my day. I told him he should see my coach swim! It just takes 3-4 hours/week and lots of miles. This was my first 10K+ week this year. My pool should be open by the end of the month so my time/distance should go up. Now if I can only get my run numbers up. OH, and looking at some of you MG peeps, you have some frick'n fast swim and run times!

I'm starting to see results from swimming more consistently. My top goal for April is to continue that progress.

Not too impressed with my numbers of March, but that's okay. I've slacked off a few days here and there (lol) and finals week were driving me batty.   I'm happy that I've gotten breakthroughs in all THREE areas in the month of March.   Hopefully my run numbers will increase after April's triathlon as well as my bike numbers.  For some reason, I always feel very consistent with the swims.  I can miss a week or even a couple MONTHS of swims and still have my form/speed - if not better.   So, I've been sticking to my goal is to get WAY better on the bike and the run with Bike focused workouts.

April 1st is kind of special for me because that's when I got engaged 3 years ago. It was pretty funny how it turned out. I told my fiancé that I refuse to get engaged on a Holiday (especially Valentine's day...way too many of my friends were engaged on that day, and some got divorced, so no), restaurant setting or any "typical" thing.   After he asked me, he said, "Okay, my job is done". I replied, "what do you mean?" He says, "Now you have to convince everyone that you're engaged."  It took a WHILE for people to believe me!! They thought I was pulling an April Fool's joke.  Even my mom didn't believe me.  Damn me and my little lies!!

(not post padding, I promise!)

Just found out today that IronGirl shorten their bike course from 30k to 22.5k. 4 miles difference.

I'm happy, but bummed.

Shorter course = what a sprint bike is supposed to be - at least I think so.

Bummed because I automatically get a PR.

Has this happened to anyone (where you have done a race, then you want to see how much you've improved and the course changes the following year)? I was really hoping to see how much I've improved over a year, and although I haven't been as religiously training as last year, but I definitely feel better/faster/improved - I was curious how I would do.

Not sure how I feel about or is it something that "it is what it is"?
