SSMinnow - 2011-08-03 6:31 AM Most of us are still sweltering so summer's in full swing....who's going to take advantage of it with a little racing this weekend? DO TELL!

I have a race tomorrow.  It's a long sprint (800 yd swim, 17.1 mi bike, and a 5.1 mi run).  I've been traveling for the past few days.  I decided to use the taper week to work in a short motorcycle trip.  I had one 12 hr day and one 8.5 hr day of riding and one day in between to do some sightseeing .  I have this thing for traveling alone once in awhile-it's good for the soul.  Problem is, I just got home late last night, I'm road weary, and I have a race TOMORROW!  Ahhhhhh! LOL

I have all day today to rest and get ready, so it's all good.  It will probably take me all day to get caught up with the mg.

Havin'Fun - 2011-08-04 8:02 PM I joined a new club tonight while out running and this is the only place I'll admit it.  Was too far from anywhere I could stop, so found a wooded area "close enough but far enough" from the road.  I know Kim is a member (I think the first to admit to it) and I think Kyla too.  Wow, anything to join a club with those two.  Anyway, found my pace picked up after.  Think it was the adrenaline flowing

Nice work Linda. I love Moms that do that!! What do you think your kids are going to think when John calls them?

FYI - Kim isn't only a member, she is the president!

Thank you, first time for everything...I believe we have two new members in addition to Linda! Welcome to the fraternity of Free Flowing Peeps! Doug admitted as much in his RR, is there someone else who would like to divulge earning their way into the club this week? Anyone, anyone? why is my new avatar sideways!!! Argggh.

I guess my Twin ratted me out.  Yeah, it's true.  I was out in rural Wisconsin getting ready to do my TT and had to go to the bathroom so bad.  I contemplated holding it, riding back into a town and finding a bathroom, but finally decided just to get it over with right then and there.  I was on a Hwy so there was no real way to do the drop and squat thing that Linda did.  So I thought of Kim and did the sit on the ground (well almost) thing. Sitting completely on the ground doesn't make sense to my bladder...need a tiny bit of clearance. Smile  On one hand it was a huge relief (I mean huge) and on the other hand it was gross! Surprised  I made sure to avoid my fancy white SIDI bike shoes, but I did hit my ROADID Undecided. Eeeeeeewwwwww.  I got on with the TT and then headed home to do laundry.  The amazing thing is my bike seat was unaffected.

Will I make this a regular practice?  NO.  Did it come in handy at that moment? YES.

So we talking No 1 or No 2?

I can tell you with 100% certainty that I will leave the whole BIG BATHROOM to Kim.    NEVER.

Okay, I see how it is.

I have only ONCE had the Gingerbread man visit me on a run and it was in Hawaii FAR away from any bathrooms and only after eating salad bar with probably tainted lettuce.  And I did not soil my running shorts.  DUDE, that is just mean.  As Trevor has proclaimed me President of the Club, I hereby appoint you as Top Meanie.  All in favor, say "Aye!"

On a more "twin like" note, I found a crack in my front passenger side mirror light cover with condensation building up two weeks ago, brought it into the service dept. this morning.  $108 dollars for new casing due to a stupid rock that must have popped up and hit it.  At least I didn't back into my neighbor's mailbox.    Gotcha.

Congratulations, Suzy and Linda! Hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go. When I ran Woodside trail 50k, there were no bathrooms along the entire course. I know many people had their first time that day

Good luck tomorrow, Jayne! The road trip sounds awesome!

Good luck Jayne.  Odd distance for a sprint.  Any reason given for the distances?

I have no idea.  They have two distances tomorrow, a super short sprint (and it's really really short) and a long sprint.  I'm using it as a step up toward my first oly on Sept 3rd.  I'm a new runner (I've decided to use that description as opposed to "weak" or "sh!tty"), so it has been motivating me to keep pushing my distances on the run.

Seriously, this first season, I'm just trying to consider my races another training day with a whole bunch of other people around.  I'm having a blast Laughing

The distances sound fun, Jayne.  I think I did a Luna Bar women's sprint with those distances a few months after my first Oly.  And in retrospect would have been better to do prior to the first Oly, at least for the swim experience!  I had a bunch of fun and it seemed just right.  You will have fun!

sign me up...

peed in a lake, river, ocean & reservoir. Peed (well off to the side, and hidden!) near trails and roads.  NEVER ON MY BIKE.  And, as long as I can climb fences...I hit the portapotties for anything, um, darker.

Yes - it surprised me.  I didn't know Canadian's played sports that didn't involve skates or brushes and rocks.

But we are happy to have him!
