So last night I started the training way early... 10pm... hoping that I'd be able to do it all. Then I found out that I had to be up early to drive dad to airport (he's going to colorado for school stuff)... So, though I didn't meet my training goal, I did subsidize, and adapt...

I started out with legs and back routine, which is mostly squats/lunges and variations thereof + pullups, chinups, and the like... Everything to get the hamstrings, quads, calfs, and then different parts of the lower, mid, and upper back muscles... Then came abs, which is 11 different ab/core exercises, at about 30 a piece, plus a bonus round of 60 more crunches.

after this routine I took a short 25 min break, watered down accordingly and stuffed some almonds down my throat.

Continued on to Kenpo X routine, mostly cardio training stuff, punches, blocks, kicks.

Directly afterward, I went on a nice little run to top it off, 1.4 mi. Thought since I wasn't going to be able to get Plyo in, might as well add the icing!

When I got back downed protein shake (1.5 scoops whey, 39 gm-->protein), and went to bed. It was about 2:30 am when I crashed, but the time between then and 5:45 am I was still mostly awake. I actually nodded off for about 45 min. when I got up, and jumped in the shower. When I got back, I crashed from 8:30am to about 1pm... So I think I made some of it up, though I was feeling like I had medicine head (groggy, hangover, burning eyes...).

Earlier yesterday (I didn't log this) I was also on my bike + a little today, just wandering aimlessly. No real effort, or focus on training. Just taking in the sights and sounds, enjoying what I could.

On to nutrition...
Between the last two days and then today, I've probably only chocked up about 3800 cal. So I amazed I haven't completely turned into the fetal position yet. On a lighter note, my parents have been trying to shove pizza, as a dinner idea, on me. And normally I would've been all over it, but I've actually turned it down at least 3 times... (besides, they usually make me order it, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to pizza. I'll eat the deluxe 'veggies', but I usually end up scraping about 80% of that crap off. I mostly eat cheese and pepp.)
So for today, I've been neglecting my nutritional needs again--> what's new, right?. Didn't have time for breakfast (was running out the door). By the time mom and I got back, she decided on donuts and milk. I opted for some cal. here and ate 2 sour cream/glazed, one right after the other, that's when the serotonin kicked in, and I crashed. Didn't eat again till about 5 pm (banana) and most of the day I've been drinking water like a fish. I think I'm up to 4.5 liters already. So I guess it's no wonder I have a headache...

For dinner I'm making spaghetti, since mom's all tuckered out. Last thurs., she had the last of her reconstruction (areola complex) she still has some tattooing to go through, but for the past 3 yrs, she's just been spent. With work, school (Pheonix online), cancer, surgeries, house stuff.... I've seen a definate change. I just hope she can pick herself up again and finally dump the sickly role.

I was pretty good over the weekend...until last night.  I got home from the show and had a healthy meal.  Then I started snacking...I started off not too bad...grapes and a couple peices of sugar free chocolate...then more grapes...then my body started saying...more  more more!!! Mikey, this is your stomach speaking, I want more!!!!...Rickey had some ice cream in the freezer, and I couldn't resist.  sigh!

Today I am doing better...bannana and some nuts for breakfast.  That is as far as I have gotten so far.  I woke up late and had to rush out the door.

Hey all you skinnies...

I finished my first tri yesterday. I'll be posting my race report today sometime.

I had 3 basic goals:
1. Finish...check!
2. To not finish last...check!
3. To run across the finish line...check!

I also expected to finish in about 3 hours but, in fact, I finished in 2:34.

I think I overdid it on the celebratory lunch yesterday though. The scale read 221.5 this morning

Sounds like the sugar monster...he does the same thing to me. Do you do better when you have non-sweet snacks? (I'm a turkey pepperoni and string cheese junky now...those don't turn me into the sugar monster!)

Congrats on being good on the weekend. I wasn't.

Kappie CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You did great and definitely deserved the celebratory lunch- it's not every day you have your first Tri and do so exceptionally well.

Hi Everybody, so my first 3 training sessions with the club are done and I don't remember feeling that great about myself in a long time, also I kinda feel like a triathlete. I had the weekend off and was getting ready for today's running session but woke up with a massive migrene- somehow managed to survive work and basically slept through the rest of the day. Hope it's gonna be better tomorrow and I won't miss out on the training session.

Hey team!

So that 5K really did something to me..I guess when you see results its like..ooooh, so this is what happens when you go outside your comfort zone. But i had to screw up first before getting my act together..so Saturday night, like an idiot, I went out for a few drinks...2.5 drinks to be exact (mojitos) and it was the worst thing EVER to do the night after I exerted myself. Oh yeah, also I ahvent had hard liquor since LAST YEAR so you can only imagine what shock my poor bidy was in, and I paid for it.

So all day yesterday, I rolled around my couch, watched tv, slept in late, took naps..and by the evening finally felt like a human being again.

Today, I feel like a new woman. It was my first day of trainining for my next race in August, and after grocery shopping my first day of food journaling.

Random Accountability:

Breakfast: Banana Bread Weight Control Quaker Oatmeal w/ .25 cup of skim milk

Mid-morning Snack: Low fat cottage cheese with strawberry topping

Lunch: Asian Chicken salad with black beans, carrots and corn

Afternoon Snack: Banana

I am not hungry at all and the best part...so far, no sugar cravings :-) yeah!!!!!!
