Still mulling over those wheels.  Such a good price.  20% - 25% less than other places...

If they were just a little closer to 1k...  But that would be like asking them to give them away...  I guess wheels are just expensive, no matter what they are....

SO Flashpoint 60's for 1k, which could need truing and could break vs. 1.3k HED 3's that are basically bomb proof...

did you try the bicycle doc usa.com ... very good deals,, basic website and you have to email for prices but quite a few people in this area have gotten wheels from them..   I"d go with a disc cover and flashpoint 80's or HED 90 on the front

Oh yeah!  I remember that site!  It's hard on the eyes for sure.  I'll take a look.

I have always loved the HED 3's... Just me.  I may just get the front, and then put a disk cover on my shimano wheel that came with the bike.

HED 3 are sweet though,, plus keep resale value if you ever get tire of them

Just got to do it.  I felt like that last night.  Last thing I wanted to do is bike on the trainer.  But man'ed up and did it.  Granted, I swaped a 75min EZ ride with my harder ride.  That means, however, I have a hard 75min to do tonight, and motivation is not much better.

Are they going to build your FP60's with a higher spoke count?

I would ask them to.  It's a custom order from a local guy...  But I also get to pick colors for spokes and nipples (hehe).  Even alternate color spokes and nipples (hehe) if I wanted.  Sky's the limit.

I remember the site and that the ability to make those wheels however you wanted them looked neat.  If you're thinking something like those FPs, check out the Jet60 C2's  that's what I picked up.  They're a newer designed wheel than the FP's.  The only annoyance is having to reset your brakes any time you switch wheelsets.  They were right in between the two prices, as well.

that has to be one of the worst designed web pages ever...  I have a headache now.

No luck on the wheels.

I'm here still. Was just doing stuff.

I'm not going to my party tonight.

Yer not? Why not?

Don't want to deal with seeing TH. Trying to avoid him will just make the party not-fun. Even if I am a hot Sarah Palin.

Even if you're a drunk Sarah Palin?

The LAST thing I would do is get wasted in front of TH - I will at least keep my dignity.

F dignity, I'd rather have fun.

Really though, it does sound like a good idea to skip it.

People don't really get drunk in this group. There will be beer and wine and such, but no one ever gets wasted.

Yeah, I did that once or twice with the church group here when I first moved to town.  The people in the group that didn't mind it are, oddly enough, the people who aren't around anymore.  The rest of them are all busy having kids and such, so I just do my own thing.  Makes life easier anyway.

Eh, almost no one in this group has kids - and only a handful are married (though plenty are dating/engaged to someone). We just aren't a "get wasted" group.

They are much wider than standard wheels.  The theory is to cut back on the lightbulb shape of the tire for aerodynamics, and to give a better contact patch in turns.  They are significantly wider than my original wheels to the point that the brakes would still rub with the release in the up position.  the 23mm tires don't come out over the braking surface at all.

There are only 2 of us in my group that aren't married or in a serious relationship.  I'm ok with that, don't think I'd like the way any of their relationships seem to work.

Getting wasted got old a LONG time ago.  I don't do it any more.  At least not that often.  It's been a LONG time since I got completely smashed.

Yeah, for me it's gone from 2-3x/week to 2-3x/year.  My body prefers the new system.

I'm so much better "in tune" with my body, I realize the it takes DAYS to recover fully from a big night of drinking.  Before, I guess I never felt all that great, so a bit of a hangover wasn't noticed.  Now any small thing is REALLY noticable.

I hear that, there were mornings I would wake up and really all I could do was fill my camelback with water, hang it over my bed, and try to rehydrate through the hangover.  Now I can tell if I'm even a little dehydrated from normal day to day activities, let alone drinking.
